Happy birthday to our owner and supervising physician, Dr. Van Stee!

Dr. Van Stee has been providing quality allergy care to her patients in western mass for many years, but this year she is able to celebrate her first birthday as sole owner of her own practice! She has put in so much work to make her vision of PVA come to life, and she is the reason we are able to do what we do every day.

Happy birthday, doc! Thank you for all you do. We are all honored to celebrate here with you today! 💙

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology recommends early and often introduction of major food allergens starting at 4-6 months as the best way to prevent food allergies. But starting this can be daunting. Watch this slideshow to see how our own PA here feeds her child major food allergens!

Do you have concerns about your child and food allergies? Don’t sit in an ER parking lot when you first give your child peanut butter. Instead, call us and chat with us about your child’s individual allergy profile, whether any testing is indicated, and if there is need for more extensive monitoring when trialing major food allergens!

Happy birthday to our Patient Care Coordinator, Adrianna!

Adrianna works so hard every day to make sure our patients have appointments that work with their busy schedules, and is essential for us to coordinate care with our fellow specialists and our PCPs. We would not be able to provide the knowledgeable and efficient care to our patients that we do if it weren’t for her dedication to us and our patients.

Happy birthday Adrianna!! We hope you had the best day. Thank you for being so easy to celebrate! 💖

Happy (belated) birthday to our clinical coordinator, Chelsea! Chelsea took the end of last week off to celebrate with family, so we are celebrating in the office today!

Chelsea is an indispensable part of our team at PVA. If you’re a patient of ours and you’re on a biologic or on IgG replacement therapy, Chelsea almost certainly was the one who made this possible. Chelsea works efficiently and professionally to get our patients quickly approved through insurance and started on treatment, limiting the gap between prescription and treatment as much as possible, so our patients are feeling better sooner! She also puts a smile on all of our faces and adds to our positive work culture in a way that wouldn’t be the same without her!

Please join us in wishing Chelsea a happy belated birthday! We love you so much!

Summer is almost over, which means school is quickly approaching!

As a reminder — school forms such as action plans like things for EpiPens, inhalers, and allergy medicine are typically required at the start of school. In order to be prepared:

-let us know that you will need a school form before your appointment if possible
-please allow 7-10 business days for school forms to be completed by our busy providers

Let this also be a reminder that if you are looking to get your child allergy tested before the school year starts, we typically need your child to be off of allergy medicine 5 days before a testing appointment, so plan accordingly!

Enjoy your last couple weeks off for summer, and we are wishing everyone a safe and healthy start to the new school year!

🏁 CLIMB TO THE CLOUDS 2026 🏁

Last weekend Pioneer Valley Allergy’s very own Margaret Sharron, NP made history at the legendary Mount Washington Auto Road, earning the title of Queen of the Mountain and setting a new all-time Women’s Record with a time of 7:16.305—shattering her own previous record set in 2021! 🏆👑

This year’s event also marked a historic first: an all-women’s team competed for the first time ever! 💪🏼🏁

The incredible Frog Racing all-women team went on to take 3rd place in the R1 Rally Class, competing against top rally teams from across the United States and Canada. That is a MASSIVE accomplishment in an incredibly competitive field—and on one of the most challenging mountain roads in the country.

Please join us in congratulating Margaret and the entire Frog Racing team on this incredible, history-making achievement and celebrating their contribution to women in motorsports! 💗🏎️🏆

Upcoming travel plans for the summer? Worried about how to travel with your epinephrine auto injector? We’re here to help!

You do not technically NEED a prescription or documentation to fly with your epinephrine, but it is strongly encouraged to make TSA much easier

Remember that checked bags in cargo can have fluctuating temperatures that may not be ideal for epinephrine. Keep your injectors with you in your carry on.
