Treatment modalities include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, mind-body approaches, hypnotherapy and EMDR.

However, researchers identified three characteristics of those experienced growth: 1. Deliberate rumination 2. Problem focused coping and 3. Extroversion (social connection)
