Did your loved one develop a bed sore in a Sacramento nursing home?

A facility should identify residents at risk and reposition them as required. Staff must also protect the resident’s skin and respond quickly when a wound appears. When they miss these steps, a small area of skin damage can become a painful and dangerous injury.

Peck Law Group reviews the wound records and checks whether staff documented required repositioning. Hospital findings can also show how advanced the injury had become and whether the facility’s account matches the medical evidence.

2) A REAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL'S REVIEW OF MEDICAL RECORDS
having a real, trained medical professional review your case can help you identify key issues you may have overlooked, can help recognize inconsistencies and even correlate issues that can strengthen your case! While AI technology is great for a lot of things, it doesn't know what it doesn't know! 📑

3) NURSE OBSERVERS AT MEDICAL EXAMS
Don't send your client into their DME or IME without an advocate nurse observer! Nurse observers ensure the exam stays within the scope of their injuries, advocates for the patient and also respectfully reminds them that a DME is NOT the place for storytelling. 😉

4) DEPOSITION QUESTIONS WRITTEN BY A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
If you want to walk into a depo fully armed, having questions written by a medical professional will throw off the deponent every time. Suddenly you're speaking their language, and it shows them you mean business 😎💪

5) LIFE CARE PLANS (where appropriate)
Life Care Plans can make a tremendous difference in what you can recover for your client. Having a tangible, defensible report for opposing counsel to review that illustrates the impact the injury has on the quality of life can go a long way! 💡 Low budget case? Ask for a "needs assessment" or "mini life care plan"-- just don't go into mediation empty-handed!
