At the annual Conejo Valley Days fair, Momentum Refresh provided a fully accessible restroom and full-sized changing space, giving families and community members the support they needed to enjoy the festivities with comfort and dignity.

A special thank you to the City of Thousand Oaks - Local Government for supporting accessibility and inclusion and helping make this valuable resource available to the community.

Using 3D print technology, Momentum's Adaptive Design Manager, Aragna Ker, is helping create custom solutions for the individuals we support.

When Donald needed a replacement joystick for his powered wheelchair, Aragna assessed his needs and created a custom joystick that matched his grip and restored his ability to navigate more comfortably and independently. After seeing Donald's success, Karen asked if a custom joystick could be created for her wheelchair. Aragna designed a custom joystick extension tailored to her needs, improving her grip, comfort, and control, and even personalized it in her favorite color, purple.

This is what innovation looks like at Momentum. By combining creativity, technology, and person-centered support, we're creating customized solutions that help the individuals we support live with greater independence. We're excited to continue exploring new ways 3D printing can remove barriers and open new possibilities.

🐾 Meet Romeo, one of Momentum’s most beloved volunteers!

As a certified therapy dog, Romeo brings comfort, connection, and plenty of tail wags to the individuals living in our residential homes and participating at our Adult Day Program in Thousand Oaks.

Every visit is an opportunity to brighten someone’s day. Whether he’s offering a gentle nuzzle or simply sitting by someone’s side, Romeo reminds us that kindness comes in many forms.

As we celebrate America's 250th anniversary, we also celebrate the countless contributions of the individuals supported by Momentum. Every day, they strengthen our communities, inspire those around them, and remind us that opportunity and belonging should be within everyone's reach.

This Independence Day, we are grateful for our individuals supported, families, staff, donors, volunteers, and community partners. Together, we are creating a future where everyone has the opportunity to live the life they choose.

Last month, our adult Community-Based Day Program visited Ventura Harbor Village to take part in an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month activity. As part of the month-long celebration, Ventura Harbor Village hosted a Gyotaku fish printing workshop, a traditional Japanese art form that originated in the 1800s.

The group was invited to stay for the entire workshop and enjoy exploring Ventura Harbor Village, thanks to Momentum Refresh's presence at the event. It was a meaningful day of creativity, cultural learning, and community connection.
