Needs Assessment Listening Session

The Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council and Ohio's Centers for Independent Living have completed a statewide needs assessment to better understand the experiences, priorities, and unmet needs of Ohioans with disabilities.

Home Care Nursing: What Families Need to Know

The Ohio Nursing Collab (ONC) now offers a new Home Care Nursing Training Playlist for families and Service and Support Administrators (SSAs). This 3-part video series covers key topics, including:

🔹Real-life challenges and strategies for making it all work

Self-advocacy means speaking up for yourself, making informed decisions, knowing your rights, and working toward the life you want. It's about recognizing your strengths, asking questions, making choices, learning from experiences, and advocating for the supports you need to achieve your goals.

Self-advocacy isn't a program—it's a lifelong skill. When people with disabilities have the opportunity to make their own decisions and direct their own lives, they build confidence, independence, and stronger communities.

It may seem scary or intimidating to advocate for yourself the first time! Our Advocacy 101 Series has some tips to help you get started.

- Start with small, manageable requests.
- Focus on the issues that matter most to you.
- Use storytelling to share your experiences and perspectives.
- Connect with peer networks, advocacy organizations, and your local disability community.

Advocacy can take many forms, and every experience matters!
