With broken hearts, Ian and Alicia Hislop announce the passing of their precious son. Though his time with us was far too short, he was deeply loved from the moment he was known and will be treasured forever. His life, however brief, brought immeasurable love, hope, and joy to all.

He will be forever cherished by his loving parents, Ian and Alicia Hislop; his grandmother, Deborah Varga, and his late grandfather, Keith Varga; his grandmother, Machelle Tousignant; his aunts and uncles, Emily (Levi) Bennett and Sarah (Kassey) Carr; and his cousins Aiden and Sabrina, as well as extended family and friends.

Though his journey was far too short, his memory will remain a lasting part of his family's story. The love that surrounded him will endure always, and he will be remembered with tenderness, gratitude, and everlasting affection.

Karen Henrietta Staton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Henrietta Staton, who departed this life on July 26, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on December 29, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Karen lived a life full of love, dedication, and community spirit.

Throughout her life, Karen embodied a strong work ethic, spending many years as a dock worker in the telecommunications industry at AT&T. Her commitment to her job was matched only by her deep connections with family, friends, and her cherished community.

Karen was a longtime member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Wayne, where she found purpose and joy in her involvement with the church's Asian Friendship Center. Her faith was a guiding light, and she fostered many friendships within the church, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion.

Karen's greatest joy came from her beloved family. She is survived by her two devoted sons, Tim (Deborah) Staton and Glen (Teresa) Staton, as well as her cherished grandchildren-Christopher (Morgan) Staton, Celia (Dylan) Benn, Brandon Staton, and Paige Staton. Her love extended beyond family; she had a special bond with her dogs, who brought her countless moments of happiness and companionship.

Karen is also survived by her dear nephews, John Holmes and Justin Holmes, who will carry her memory forward.

Karen Henrietta Staton's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she cultivated in this life.

Earle Arthur Chorbagian

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Earle Arthur Chorbagian, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, educator, and Army Air Corps veteran, who departed this world at the age of 100 in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Earle was born on April 23, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, and dedicated his life to the service of others through education and his unwavering commitment to family.

Earle earned his Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University and later pursued a Master's Degree from Wayne State University. He devoted 30 years to teaching in the Wayne Westland Community School District at Southside Junior High and Adams Junior High, inspiring countless students with his passion for knowledge and learning. His love for history enriched his lessons and instilled a sense of curiosity in all who had the privilege to enter his classroom.

A proud veteran of the Army Air Corps, Earle served his country with honor during World War II, where he served as a navigator on Boeing B-17s. He cherished the camaraderie he found in service and carried those principles throughout his life.

A devoted family man, Earle was married for 75 years to his beloved wife, the late Billie Chorbagian whom he married on June 16, 1945. He was a beloved father to his son, Mark (Kathleen) Chorbagian, and daughter, Susan (John) Luyendyk, and was a cherished grandfather to Andrew (Dawn) Chorbagian and the late Kelly (Philip) Snow. He reveled in the joy of being a great-grandfather to Jack Snow, Drew Chorbagian, and Benjamin Snow. He was also a loving brother to Estelle Feld, the late Paul Chorbagian, and the late Jack Chorbagian.

He also enjoyed the spirited play of backgammon, where Earle was known as an incredible player. He was also an avid fan of University of Michigan football and Detroit Tigers baseball, enjoying the thrill of the game with those he loved.

Earle was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Wayne for many years, where he contributed his time and talents, further reflecting his commitment to community and faith.

Earle is survived by his beloved family: his son Mark, daughter Susan, grandson Andrew, great-grandsons Jack, Drew, and Benjamin, and his sister, Estelle Feld.

Earle's spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Earle was preceded in death by: wife, Billie Chorbagian, parents, Artin and Genevieve Chorbagian, granddaughter, Kelly Snow, and brothers, Paul Chorbagian and Jack Chorbagian.

Margaret Ann Olson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Olson, aged 97, on July 25, 2026, just four days shy of her 98th birthday. Born on July 29, 1928, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, Margaret's journey through life was one filled with love, adventure, and an unyielding spirit. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, leaving behind an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Margaret grew up on a farm, fostering a lifelong love for gardening. Her knowledge of flowers and vegetables was remarkable, and her gardens were a testament to her nurturing spirit. Cooking was another passion of hers, as she treasured the family gatherings that came alive with laughter and the aroma of delicious meals shared around the dinner table.

In 1947, Margaret married her love, Melvin Olson, whom she had introduced to her world on the steps of the library after his military service in WWII. Their love story blossomed into a beautiful family, characterized by their dedication and support for one another. Melvin passed on September 21, 1980, leaving her with fond memories and strength.

In her professional life, Margaret began as a phone operator with the Bell Company, a position she cherished. After raising her children, she returned to work and dedicated over 20 years at Country Coney Island in Westland, where she formed lasting relationships and proved to be an invaluable asset in every role she undertook.

Margaret was adventurous at heart. She took pleasure in traveling with her children throughout the United States and continued to explore new destinations in her retirement. She cherished her visits to the casino and found immense joy in her favorite pastime-reading and solving crossword puzzles and word searches, a hobby she excelled at later in life.

Known for her kind, non-judgmental nature, Margaret was a compassionate listener who offered her support without reservation. She celebrated the beauty of life with her radiant smile, fashionable jewelry, and perfectly styled hair. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and heard, demonstrating unconditional love in every interaction.

Margaret leaves behind her two devoted daughters, Karen (Scott) Francis and Lynn (Jose) Correa; her beloved sisters, Arlene Almon and Audrey Brieland; grandchildren Eddie (Lynn) Olson, Michael (Denise) Neuzbaum, Amy (Martin) Guberman, David Neuzbaum, Aleecia (Luis) Centeno, Lynda (Jason) Kennedy, Cynthia Peper, Raquel (Greg Wright) Correa, and Eric (Mailan Hudson) Correa; 15 cherished great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

While we grieve her passing, we also celebrate the life she led-a life filled with love, kindness, and adventure that will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Margaret. Your legacy of love and compassion will forever resonate within our hearts.

Joanne Hollenbeck

Joanne Hollenbeck, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born to the late John and Eileen Smuk on May 14, 1951, and lived a life filled with love, adventure, and laughter.

Joanne's vibrant spirit shone brightly throughout her life. She was the proud mother of the late Allen Hollenbeck, Mark Hollenbeck, the late Karen Hollenbeck, and Joy (Justin Caspers) Hollenbeck, and she embraced her role as a mother-in-law to Marsha (Michael) Pych. Joanne's heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren: Jimmy (Ashley) Hollenbeck, David Hollenbeck, Alexandra Beach, Matthew Kopcak, and Violet Kopcak. Her love for them was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent together.

Joanne had dear lifelong friendships, especially with Karen Prentice, who stood by her side for 60 years, and Elizabeth Mack, whose companionship brought joy to her heart.

In 2003, Joanne found love again when she married her late husband, Joe. Together, they shared wonderful memories fishing and vacationing in the beautiful Upper Peninsula, a place that held a special place in Joanne's heart since childhood. The U.P. was more than a vacation spot; it was a sanctuary where her love for nature blossomed, particularly through her passion for gardening and spending time outdoors.

Joanne's zest for life was undeniable. An incredibly loving person, she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her strong-willed and spicy nature earned her the affectionate reputation of wanting things done her way, a trait that endeared her to those who knew her best.

Joanne had an immeasurable love for her dogs, often joked to be even greater than for her children and grandchildren. These furry companions were a source of joy and laughter in her life, bringing her an abundance of happiness.

A celebration of Joanne's life will take place on August 1, 2026. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering at Uht Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM. We invite all who knew and loved Joanne to come together to honor the incredible woman she was and to share in the cherished memories that will forever live on in our hearts.

Joanne Hollenbeck's legacy of love, laughter, and fierce independence will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived.

Suzanne Dunphy

Suzanne Dunphy - November 15th,1935 - July 23rd, 2026

Suzanne Dunphy, 90, of Westland, Michigan, passed away peacefully at 1:48am, July 23rd, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Suzanne was born in a country home where she was raised in Joplin, Missouri on November 15th,1935. She was the youngest of three, having two brothers, Sam and David, (who proceeded her in death). Suzanne met Maurice (who proceeded her in death) and was married 6 months after they met in 1953. Suzanne was seventeen years old. Suzanne was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend whose love, kindness and generosity touched anyone who met her. She enjoyed family, church activities with friends, reading God's Word, sewing, flowers and plants, cooking, baking, but most of all her family. She is survived by her children, Kathryn (Gary) Hoeft, Linda who proceeded her in death, James (Laura Felker), Shari who proceeded her in death (Ron) Kudek, Joel (Katherine) and John (Shelly). Her grandchildren, Heather, Heidi (Matt), Justin, Safiyah, Christopher, Ryan, Paige (Rob), Jacob, Joshua, Noah, Abigail, and Emma. Her great grandchildren, Donovan, Drake, Irelyn, Raegan, Collin, Connor, Timothy, and Luna.

The family has suggested in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution be made to the loving caretakers at Michigan Community VNA Hospice and Home care benevolent fund.

Patricia Ann Neuenschwander

Patricia Neuenschwander, age 59, of White Lake, Michigan passed away on Friday, July 24th. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family who walked beside her every step of this journey. Trish suffered from a rare metaplastic breast cancer that effects less than one percent of all breast cancers. She sought numerous alternative treatments on her journey hoping she could get in remission and that the possibility existed she may be able to help others on their journey.

Trish was born December 30,1966 in Wayne, Michigan. The daughter of parents James and Susan Daniel.

Trish met her husband, James Neuenschwander (Neu), over 30 years ago, during their employment at Annapolis Hospital. They married on April 22, 1999. Neu and Trish's love spanned over two decades and was full of passion. They were soulmates on this journey and partners in love, work, and community, making the world a little better place.

Trish was a 1985 graduate of Wayne Memorial High School. She went on to earn an associate's degree in nursing from Schoolcraft College in 1994. She pursued her love of nursing at Wayne State University where she obtained a master's degree in nursing in 2014 becoming a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She began her career as an EKG tech at Annapolis Hospital in 1989 while attending nursing school. After graduation she devoted over 20 years of nursing, primarily working in the emergency department. She greatly cherished the bonds she created with her co-workers, patients and families in that role. Following her time at Annapolis she pursued a leadership role in managing Bio Energy Medical Center over the next 15 years and became a co-owner and president of Creating Brighter Futures in 2013.

Trish always had a passion to help others and serve the community. She spent time volunteering for numerous organizations such as America's Junior Miss Program, No Child without a Christmas, Wayne Goodfellow's, Michigan for Vaccine Choice, Bethany's Buddies, Millions Against Mandates, and others over the years. She was an advocate for informed consent and was outspoken on her concerns related to children's health. She was always willing to fight for justice and for protection of the vulnerable in her personal and professional life. Her commitment and spirit touched countless lives.

When she was not spending time with her grandkids, Trish enjoyed boating, researching vaccine safety, traveling, cooking, and attending Detroit Lion's games. Vacations to Florida the last several years with her children and grandchildren left permanent impressions on her heart.

Trish loved her friends and she had many. Trish had a genuine bond with her loving best friend Karen Perkins with whom she laughed through life with and personally credits Karen for her many accomplishments. Karen was Trish's greatest confidant. She could never thank her enough for her love, support, and encouragement. Karen was the wind beneath her wings. Trish had many other dear friends-old and new-and she hopes you know who you are and hold your relationship deeply in your heart, just as she did.

Trish is survived by her husband, James Neuenschwander, the devoted love of her life; her three beautiful children, whom she shared with her former husband, Robert Dickerson Jr.; three beloved step-children; and seven beautiful grandchildren. Brandon (Nicole), Robert, Bethany (Alexnder), Amber, (Isis) Andrew (Lindsay), Adam, Troy, Indigo, Luna, Michael, Murphy, AJ, and Rose. They brought her pure joy every single day and she felt tremendously blessed to be their wife, mother, and grandmother. She was so proud of how Neu and the kids demonstrated strength throughout this difficult journey and is certain they will make her proud in carrying on. In addition, Trish is survived by her parents James Daniel (Gail) and Susan Daniel; brother James; his children Rachel and Trevor. Half-sister Jennifer and her son Matthew.

Trish is predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents. She was looking forward to seeing her guardian angel dogs, Faith, McGraw, Roxy, Molly, and Major.

Our family wants to especially thank those who demonstrated kindness, love, support, and expressions of faith on this journey. Whether you were a dear friend, acquaintance, or perhaps a stranger, we thank you! In addition, it is Trish's hope that you realize that, although her life was all too short, it was still beautiful. She asked that you continue to support her family as they begin life without her physically here. Please take each chance you get to smile brightly at the children when you see them, share a story or memory you have of her, or some way she touched your life. This will help lift them up and continue her story.

Lastly, she wanted to thank her medical providers. Maria Gahry provided her outstanding medical care and devoted countless hours researching how to best support her. Dr. Larry Palvesky who shared not only his medical advice freely but held and supported her emotionally in her space. A special Thank you to Hunter, who she thought was God sent, for the last 14 months in helping her explore her life, the death process and cultivating gratitude's transformative power.

Russell Stromski

With heavy hearts but fond memories, we announce the passing of Russell Stromski, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on July 24, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on December 31, 1961, in Michigan, Russell spent his life embracing every opportunity to create joy and connection.

Russell met his wife, Robin, online in 1999, and they were joyfully married on September 15, 2001. Together, they shared a passion for travel and adventure, embarking on annual cruises-including the memorable Rock Legend's Cruise-where Robin's meticulously organized timelines allowed them to fully savor each experience. Russell's love for exploration extended to collecting Christmas ornaments from every destination they visited, creating a cherished tradition that reflected their shared creativity and spontaneity.

A master jokester with a generous spirit, Russell had a knack for bringing smiles to others. His friends often recall his infectious laugh and gentle humor, as well as his undeniable charm. A lifelong piano player, Russell found joy in music that filled their home and hearts. Though he wasn't "classically trained", his passion for playing resonated deeply with those around him. That same love of music was evident in his many warm summer evening garage karaoke classics, enjoyed by close friends and family.

Russell dedicated over 20 years of his career to Sanyo-Denki as an electronics electrician, demonstrating the hard work and commitment he was known for. His hands-on nature and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a jack of all trades-always ready to assist with home improvements for family, friends, and neighbors alike.

An avid participant in wallyball with his friends, Russell thrived on community and camaraderie, and he loved to indulge in sweet treats-often proclaiming, "If it's not chocolate, it's not dessert!" His playful spirit was well-known, especially after that infamous day when he flipped a tractor into a creek; stories of his antics will surely continue to bring laughter for years to come.

Russell is survived by his loving wife, Robin Stromski; daughter Paula (Brian) Popa and son Kevin McGinness; brothers Joe (Tracie) and Steve Stromski; sister-in-law Janet Stromski; and a host of cherished nieces and nephews, Chelsie, Justin (Victoria), Cherie (Ryan), Georgia (Jason), Stevie (Nick), Christopher (Jessica), Andrew (Elianna), Sarah (Alex), Courtney (Ahren), William, Dominick, Jayden, Adalind, Wyatt, Emma, Rae, Rilie, Lincoln, and Jack. All who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Friends and family are encouraged to share stories or memories of Russell, uplifting the joy he brought to our lives, and honoring a man who truly gave the shirt off his back to anyone in need. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Marie Chant, age 51, who left us peacefully on July 24, 2026. Born on November 22, 1974, in Farmington Hills, MI, Lisa touched the lives of many during her journey through life. A loving partner, devoted mother, and adoring grandmother, she proudly called Westland, MI, her home.

Lisa was a homemaker who reveled in the joy of caring for her family and creating a warm and nurturing environment. She is survived by her beloved life partner, Kevin Wilson, her cherished daughters, Haley (Scottie) Chant and Lexi (Brenden) Souva, and her son, Andrew (Kelsey) Chant. Her grandchildren-Jax, Rowyn, Karson, Kayden, and Peyton-were the radiant lights of her life, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to creating beautiful memories with them. Lisa is also survived by her brother, Lenny Chant, who will miss the love, laughter, and bond they shared.

With a heart that knew no bounds, Lisa always extended her hand to those in need, embodying kindness and generosity. She was the life of every gathering, ensuring that laughter and joy filled the air. Her infectious spirit shone brightest during family vacations, particularly in her favorite locations-Indian River, MI, Mackinaw City, MI, and the sunny shores of Florida. Whenever the sun graced the sky, Lisa could be found reveling in the warmth it brought.

A true fighter, she faced her illness with great strength and resilience, inspiring those around her. Her legacy of warmth, compassion, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
