A big thank you to Giant Food Store at 405 N. Center Street and everyone who purchased a Community Bag during the month of July to support CARE Healing Center!

Over 100 Community Bags were purchased, helping support CARE’s work providing free and confidential services to survivors of s*xual violence and human trafficking in our community.

Join CARE Healing Center on October 7th for our annual Lighting the Way for Survivors Vigil.

This evening is dedicated to honoring survivors of s*xual violence, standing in solidarity with those impacted, and coming together as a community to show that survivors are never alone.

Together, we light the way for survivors and continue working toward a community rooted in compassion, healing, and safety.

Victim blaming sounds like:
"What were you wearing?"
"Why didn't you leave?"
"Why didn't you fight back?"
"Why did you go there?"
"Why didn't you report it sooner?"
The better question is:
"Why did someone choose to harm another person?"

Sexual violence is never caused by a survivor's actions, appearance, or choices. Accountability belongs with the person who caused the harm.

The Carroll County Human Trafficking Task Force brought the Red Sand Project to organizations across Carroll County to raise awareness of human trafficking. Participants poured red sand into cracks in the pavement, symbolizing the millions of men, women, and children who too often fall through the cracks of our society and are exploited through commercial s*x or forced labor. By engaging organizations throughout the county, the task force encouraged meaningful conversations about human trafficking and the importance of prevention, awareness, and community action.

Throughout the day today, we will be sharing photos of each organization participating in the Red Sand Project. Together, these organizations are helping shine a light on human trafficking and demonstrating our community's commitment to raising awareness and preventing exploitation.
