🌫️ Air Quality Alert 🌫️

Due to wildfire smoke from Canada, our region is experiencing poor air quality, with conditions expected to worsen beginning tomorrow and continuing through the weekend.

Today’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is Orange, with Red conditions forecast for tomorrow.

If you have COPD, asthma, or other chronic lung conditions, we recommend:
🏠 Stay indoors as much as possible.
🚪 Keep windows and doors closed.
❄️ Run your air conditioning if available, using a clean filter.
💊 Continue taking your prescribed medications and keep your rescue inhaler nearby.
⚠️ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities until air quality improves.

Please take these precautions to protect your lungs and stay safe. If you experience worsening shortness of breath, severe wheezing, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or any other concerning symptoms, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.

Stay safe, and take extra care of your lungs this weekend.

📣 Exciting news from Carroll Pulmonary & Sleep Associates! 💙

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Nsight to bring an extra layer of care and support to our patients!

Over the coming weeks, Nsight will be reaching out by phone call and text message to select patients we’ve identified who may benefit from this program. They may offer helpful monitoring devices such as:
🩺 Blood pressure cuffs
⚖️ Digital scales
💙 Pulse oximeters
🌬️ Spirometers
…and more!

These devices allow your health information to be monitored from the comfort of your home. If your readings show any concerning changes, our office is notified right away so we can step in early and help before a small problem becomes a bigger one.

⭐ The best part? This is NOT a scam! Our only goal is to provide another level of personalized care and help keep you as healthy as possible.

If you receive a call or text from Nsight, we hope you’ll consider participating. Together, we’re making it easier than ever to keep your health on track—without leaving home! 💙

🇺🇸✨ PSA from your favorite lung people! ✨🇺🇸

Hello, friends!

Carroll Pulmonary & Sleep Associates will be CLOSED tomorrow (Friday) in observance of the Fourth of July so our team can celebrate with our families, eat way too many hot dogs, and pretend we don’t hear the neighbors setting off fireworks at 2:00 AM. 🎆🌭😂

Before we head out, a few quick reminders:

💊 Need a medication refill or have a question for your provider? Please call us before 5:00 PM today!

🫁 If you’re having trouble breathing or your oxygen level is dropping or dropped and is sitting low, please don’t wait for us to reopen—head to your nearest emergency room or urgent care.

☎️ We’ve been BUSY (seriously…you all have been keeping us on our toes! 💙). If you get our hold music, don’t worry—we promise we didn’t forget about you! We’re answering calls in the order they’re received, and our team is working as fast as humanly possible. We appreciate your patience more than you know!

🎇 And finally…if you have asthma, COPD, or another lung condition, maybe admire the fireworks from a little farther away this year. Smoke, fireworks, bonfires, and anything that makes your lungs say, “Absolutely not,” are probably best enjoyed from a safe distance. Your lungs deserve a holiday too. 😉

Have a safe, fun, and happy Fourth of July weekend! We’ll be back, caffeinated and ready to see your smiling faces after the holiday. ❤️🤍💙

🔥🥵 PSA FROM YOUR FAVORITE LUNG PEOPLE 🫁

Y’all… it’s hotter than a jalapeño’s armpit out there. 😮‍💨

Please, for the love of your lungs (and ours), TAKE IT EASY this week!

If you need somewhere to cool off, we’ve attached a link to Carroll County’s cooling centers. There is absolutely zero shame in borrowing someone else’s air conditioning. We support it. 😂

💙 Our Asthma & COPD friends:
💧 Drink water like it’s your full-time job.
💊 Make sure your inhalers and medications are filled BEFORE you need them.
🫁 Keep your rescue inhaler with you—not buried at the bottom of your purse next to the mystery receipts from 2021.
🏠 Stay inside during the hottest part of the day if you can.
🌬️ Let the A/C earn its paycheck.
🚫 Maybe don’t decide this is the week to pressure wash the house, mow five acres, pull w**ds for three hours, or train for a marathon. Your lungs have respectfully declined.

Heat + humidity = cranky lungs. If you’re getting more short of breath than usual, wheezing, coughing more, or your rescue inhaler isn’t helping like it normally does, don’t try to “tough it out.”

☎️ Give us a call!
🗓 Monday–Thursday: 9 AM–5 PM
🥪 We do disappear for lunch from 12–1 PM (even lung people have to eat).
🗓 Friday: 9 AM–1 PM
📞 410-848-3858

We love every single one of you… but we’d really prefer not to see your name on our schedule because you tried to w**d the flower beds at 2 PM in 97° weather. 😜

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Keep those lungs happy. We promise the yard work will still be there when the weather stops trying to cook us all. 💙🫶

🌞🥵 Heads up, friends… Mother Nature has officially cranked up the thermostat! 🥵🌞

With this heat wave rolling in, we want to remind our COPD and Asthma patients to take extra good care of yourselves.

💙 Stay indoors when possible (especially during the hottest part of the day).
💙 Stay hydrated.
💙 Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
💙 Keep your rescue inhaler and medications nearby.
💙 If you’re using oxygen, make sure your equipment stays in a cool, well-ventilated area.

As always, we’re here for you if you need us! ❤️ That said, our schedule is very busy, so if you’re experiencing worsening symptoms, please don’t wait until you’re in crisis to give us a call.

Let’s all work together to stay safe, stay cool, and breathe a little easier this week. 😎❄️

☀️ Be kind to your lungs—they’re working hard enough already!
