Being a stepparent isn’t just about joining a family.

It’s about finding your place in a story that started long before you arrived.

It’s loving without always knowing how your love will be received.

It’s learning when to step in
 and when to step back.

It’s celebrating the small moments that no one else notices.

And sometimes, it’s carrying a role that feels invisible.

This isn’t about comparing stepmoms to parents.

It’s about recognizing that blended families are beautifully complex and so are the people trying to make them work.

To every stepmom doing her best: I see you. đŸ€

Okay
 hear me out. 👀

Mel Robbins recently said that people pleasing is manipulation, and I think it’s a really interesting conversation.

It’s also worth remembering that Mel Robbins isn’t a licensed mental health professional. Her background is in law. She shares powerful ideas, but they’re different from a clinical perspective.

As a therapist, I’d add this nuance:

People pleasing is often a survival strategy rooted in anxiety, attachment wounds, or trauma, not an attempt to manipulate others in a malicious way.

Can it influence how other people respond to us? Absolutely.

But I think reducing it to “people pleasers are manipulators” oversimplifies a much more complex human experience.

Y, aun asĂ, aprendemos a seguir adelante.đŸ€

Grief can be like a scar on the soul. It may heal, soften, and transform, but it remains part of our story. There is no right or wrong way to experience it.

This is a very general reflection on grief—every experience is different. Not everyone needs therapy, but if your grief feels too heavy to carry alone, reaching out for support is a sign of strength. đŸ€
