The World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies brings together clinicians, researchers, and educators from around the globe to share ideas, advance evidence-based care, and learn from one another. We are honored to be part of this international community and contribute to conversations about treating some of the most challenging OCD presentations seen in clinical practice.

Join our team for Severe and Complex OCD: Multidisciplinary Approach to Behavioral Treatment, where we’ll discuss how psychology, neuropsychology, applied behavior analysis, and intensive behavioral treatment can work together to support individuals with severe OCD and co-occurring conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and executive functioning challenges.

We look forward to connecting with colleagues from around the world and sharing what we’ve learned through our work with complex OCD populations.

🧠 Understanding the function of a behavior changes everything.

Repetitive behaviors in Autism often serve a self-regulatory function and, in many cases, should be supported and accommodated.

OCD compulsions serve a different purpose. They are maladaptive behaviors used to manage anxiety and discomfort, reinforced by short-term relief. Tailored Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the treatment that is proven to help.

This is why careful assessment and clear differentiation are essential.
