Aaahhh summer! It’s finally here!

This season is all about growth and nourishment. It is important that we take some time outside and breathe in the fresh air. Staying hydrated is even more important this season, as the hydration is our body’s natural coolant. It’s a great time to eat foods that are hydrating, like fruits and berries. Our bodies love when we eat things that are in season as it encourages are natural internal rhythms.

The sun is also important and provides a generous dose of vitamin D this time of the year, something we definitely do not get enough of here in New England. It is important to enjoy a bit of the sunshine, while being mindful that too much sun can be dangerous. It’s all about balance! Early morning sun exposure is gentler and a good sunscreen for the afternoon is highly recommended.

I am excited for the increased energy that this season provides!

I’ve been quiet these past few weeks! Life has been filled with activity; winding down the school year, so many end-of-year events, and all that encompasses shifting toward summer mode. We took a weekend getaway, which really helped to get re-grounded. I think it’s important to take that time for ourselves. The act of getting away to a relaxing place really helps us regroup. It reminds us that we are not trapped in our daily grind. What is your favorite grounding place?

This part of June is all about winding down and preparing for summer. I’m definitely a 4 season girl, but this is one of my most favorite times of the year! My kid’s activities and the school year are coming to an end and we are beginning to shift our energy. We are planning our vacations and preparing for summer camp. We will reconnect friends we haven’t seen for months, and that is always a great time! I am looking forward to the slower pace that summer provides.

This season is all about recharging our batteries. As you prepare for this seasonal shift, don’t forget to take a moment for yourself!
