Funeral and Cremation Services Farley opened the Thomas F. Robert P.

The Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home began serving residents of Hartford and surrounding towns in 1943 when Thomas F. Farley Funeral Home at 96 Webster Street in Hartford. Sullivan joined the funeral home after attending the New York School of Embalming and Restorative Art. In time, Mr. Sullivan assumed the role of managing and operating the funeral home for Mrs. Thomas F. Farley. Upon the death of Ma

rguarite Farley in 1964, Bob Sullivan continued to operate the funeral home, eventually assuming ownership. Bob was joined in the funeral home by his sons Bob, Kevin and Tom as they each graduated and became licensed Embalmer/Funeral Directors. In 1976 Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home purchased the Sullivan Funeral Home at 50 Naubuc Avenue in Glastonbury, thereby expanding its service to families in the Glastonbury/East Hartford area. In 1996 the Webster Street facility, in Hartford, which had served as the funeral home for 53 years, could no longer accommodate the growing size of funerals, creating an opportunity for Mr. Sullivan to purchase a building at 34 Beaver Road in Wethersfield. This 11,000 sq. ft. building was remodeled and transformed into a state of the art facility.

Katherine “Kay” Walsh, age 92, wife of the late Edward Walsh, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026 with family by her side at her home in South Glastonbury.

Born in 1934 in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Malcolm and Catherine Aldrich, Kay grew up in Meriden and graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Married in 1958, Kay and Ed moved to South Glastonbury in 1972 and raised their four sons there. She was predeceased by her sister Ann Sampson and her brothers William and Malcolm Aldrich. She is survived by her dear friend and sister Jean Petit of Meriden; by her sons Michael (Portland, Maine), David (South Glastonbury); Chris (and Mary of Cambridge, Massachusetts); and Peter (Tampa, Florida) and by her beloved grandchildren Julia, Anna, Matthew, Tess, Calla, Cece, Malcolm, and Jack. She leaves behind also many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends as well the good people of Stockade Road, where she lived for 54 years. Bill and Kathy Casey were wonderfully supportive from the time they moved in next door in 1978 until Kay’s very last days; Tommy French provided different kinds of support and friendship over that same span; and many others—too many to name—“around the circle” past and present gave Kay a true neighborhood, for which she and her family are forever grateful. As a nurse who had a long and rewarding career before retiring at the age of 74 and who cared for Ed in his last years, Kay would also want us to thank her primary care physician of many decades, Dr. Paul Vella, the kind aides of BeWell Care at Home, and the compassionate professionals of Hartford HealthCare Home Hospice. Kay appreciated anyone who treated others with love and respect, and who knew how to laugh with others and at themselves—things that she did her whole beautiful life.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on the Walsh family on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Kay's life will take place at 11:30 am in St. Augustine Church of Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish, 55 Hopewell Road, Glastonbury, with a reception to follow. Burial will be held at a later date. To share a memory with the family, or to leave a condolence, please visit FarleySullivan.com.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Kay’s memory to the Jimmy Fund, the Connecticut Humane Society, or to the Irish American Home Society.
