As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, we're highlighting one of the partnerships that makes The Woodlands unique.
This week, Camp Inspire brings the camp experience to children and teens who are ventilator-dependent through our partnership with UPMC Children's Hospital.
Making camp possible for these individuals requires careful planning and close collaboration. Physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, support staff, counselors, and volunteers work side by side to ensure campers can safely participate in everything camp has to offer.
Last summer we were honored to have Jackson, a Camp Inspire participant, featured on KDKAβs Talk Pittsburgh, to highlight his camp experience. You can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPC0kxH4Wuw
We are grateful to the team at UPMC Children's Hospital and to everyone who helps make Camp Inspire possible.
