Uh oh, I scrolled on socials for more than 3 posts so naturally I have something to call out 🙄 As a surprise to no one on this page I’m sure, it’s of course the colonialist & commercialized alt-right grift version of “wellness”.

I’ve been seeing a new regurgitation of the same tired & exploitive messaging that the aforementioned population loves to spew. You know the kind- the kind that frames illness or disability as a personal & moral failure.

Chronic illness is complex because life and bodies are complex. And the rise in autoimmunity prevalence cannot be separated from the systems we are living inside of: imperialism, colonialism, misogyny, racism, disconnection, exploitation, and the other impossible conditions many people are trying to survive within.

As the air continues warms, but the tallest late spring lilacs still blossom fragrantly, this incredibly easy recipe is a must try for the season.

After years of making foraged lilac honey, soda, tea creamer, possets, and more, I can’t believe it took me so long to make ice cream?! And this no-heat, no-churn recipe not only preserves the blooms fragrance, but is so wildly easy you’d be silly to not imbibe!

I’d argue that conjuring food from foraged seasonal botanicals is one of the most fundamentally grounding and connecting crafts we have as humans. It’s rewarding, fun, and a massive connection point to ancestors & living in full presence.

So while this tasty treat will surely satisfy your sweet tooth and sense of whimsy, I’d be willing to bet that if you tried this recipe & followed along, you’d get so much more from the experience! 💜🌿

My life’s winding path has become an ornate corridor filled with elaborate thresholds—different breaks in the thicket that invite you to step through where you are ready & willing.

Where do they lead you ask?

Home.
Home to relationship.
With land, with body, with seasonality, with intuition, with ritual, with cycles, with self, and with the living world around us.

The roots of relationship & reorientation tendril deep in fertile dirt, and from there, all else grows. Those roots are infused in all that I birth, so no matter how you’ve interacted with my content, you have touched it. It’s why you come & why most of you also stay.

The apothecary products and coven boxes are tangible anchors; material world manifestations of the ethos & tangible tools to support the practice.

The Earthwoven rituals are the embodied communal layer. We practice these values relationally & together, and breathe life into them as effigies of the worldview. We walk with them side by side.

My teachings are devoted practice & integration. Alchemical distillations of decades of unraveling and returning myself, molded into carefully crafted containers of accountability and integrity.

I don’t offer hollow vibes, aesthetics, or optimization. If that’s what you want- there are plenty who will grift it to you. But for those who feel the ache of knowing real transformation comes from less, not more…I will be here to remember & return together.

Can you feel it, my friends? The increasing warmth in the air, the colors beginning to cascade through the landscape, the sun hanging longer in the sky. Though we have just passed the cross quarter, we will soon enough find ourselves at Midsummer… and that is always something to celebrate! 🌸

I’m excited to welcome back for this year’s Litha Earthwoven Ritual! A returning favorite facilitator from last year, Ali is a local swamp witch, artist and creator of Spooky Forest Co. Ali’s creativity extends in many directions- from hand-painted creations inspired by the nature, to creative writing and research focused workshops that blend folklore and myth, literature, history, the natural worlds, and the magical realms.

In this beautifully aligned seasonal celebration, Ali will weave the threads of seasonal craft, mythology, folklore, & history. Together we will meander through a hand compiled seasonal workbook (that you get to take home!), enjoy a short meditation, and finish with a sun catcher craft to celebrate the energy. 🌞

As always, we’ll all also gather around a lush snack spread of homemade garden to table gluten free nibbles, alongside a Gate & Garden custom blended ritual tea as we imbibe in a opening story circle around the living altar.

I had plans for Thursday evening; an exciting shop update for Walpurgisnacht. New products, & things I’ve been working on for a long while.

And then one of my chickens got sick in a way that needed me fully & immediately so I did something I never do.

I cancelled the shop update…with like, 4 hours to go. And ooooh yikes, that felt like s**t!

Partly because of my own patterning; wanting to follow through, not let people down, hold myself to a certain standard, etc. And of course, partly because this is my livelihood and how I pay my bills.

But as I sat with it, what actually felt the heaviest was the friction around integrity. Because I’m someone who does what I say I’m going to do….And I didn’t.

But that wasn’t actually true.

The version of integrity I felt friction with is surface level. It’s the thin, conditional, and convenient kind we think embodying is enough. But gritty, messy, real integrity asks more. And it asked me to prioritize truth over timelines.

So I chose. I chose to stay in my values; not in spite of my livelihood, but entrenched in it.

Because what is the point of building something rooted in the rhythms of the earth if I override those rhythms the second they don’t fit neatly into my schedule?

TRULY centering nature means other things take a back seat. Not when it’s poetic, not when it’s easy, not when it’s Instagram-able…but when it’s inconvenient, when it disrupts, and when it asks you to see & choose.

So I chose to tend to the life I’ve committed to stewarding instead of the work waiting for me.
And y’all, In a capitalist framework, that’s considered a “bad business model” lol. But hey, I’ve known that from the beginning.

But here I am, nearly 6 years after deciding to sign those LLC papers. Which isn’t just a testament to me, btw, It’s to you, too!

Because you also choose integrity.
Every like, follow, purchase, and yes to what I create supports this model and amplifies the value of doing things in a way where aliveness isn’t secondary to output.

That matters more than I can ever say.
