Here’s something I wish more people understood about stress:
Your nervous system doesn’t distinguish between a psychological threat and a physical one. A difficult conversation with your boss triggers the same cascade as a near-miss on the highway. Cortisol. Epinephrine. Elevated heart rate. Shallow breath. Digestion on pause.
For most people, that response is firing all day long — at low levels, but constantly. This is chronic stress, and over time it rewires the nervous system toward a baseline of activation that becomes very hard to step out of on
your own.
Yoga therapy is one of the most effective tools I’ve encountered for working with this — because it addresses the nervous system directly, through the body, the breath, and practiced awareness. Not by talking about stress, but by giving the nervous system something different to do with it.
That’s the heart of Monday Reset: a 6-week yoga therapy series for nervous system regulation, starting September in Wheat Ridge, CO. In-person. Small group. Space is limited.
If you’re a provider who works with clients experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, or stress-related physical symptoms — I’d love to connect. This series may be a strong complement to the work you’re already doing.
