Nicole “Nikki” M. Hertaus, 18, of Lake Village, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Born on January 17, 2008, in Munster, Indiana, Nikki was the beloved daughter of David Hertaus and the late Cheryl Robishaw. She attended the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities in Muncie and worked part-time at the Cowfé at Fair Oaks Farms.

Nikki was a passionate and creative soul. She possessed a deep love for artistic expression, spendings hours painting, sketching, and sculpting. She had a fascination with birds, a talent for cooking, and was actively teaching herself Russian with the goal of one day utilizing her language skills in government service.

She is survived by her loving father, David Hertaus; her brother, Ryan Hertaus; her grandparents, William and Judy Stevens; her uncles, Mark, Timothy (Kimberly), and Matthew (Faith) Stevens; and her cousins, Jessica, Ashley, Alison, Emily, Matthew, and Elizabeth.

Nicole was preceded in death by her loving mother, Cheryl Robishaw.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Community Church in Roselawn from 9:00 until 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 10:00 AM with Pastor Matthew Pierce officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made payable to Indiana Su***de Prevention Network.

Steve S. Yarchan, age 80, of Wheatfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Born on June 13, 1946, in East Chicago, Indiana, Steve was the son of Steve Sr. and Sylvia (Ciecierski) Yarchan. He attended Highland Public Schools and spent 25 years working for Central Rent-A-Crane, Inc. as a heavy equipment truck driver and operator. Steve married the love of his life, Carol Ann Sivulich, on February 4, 1967, and she survives him.

Steve was affiliated with St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kouts and was a proud member of Teamsters Locals #142, #705, and #687. He was a man who enjoyed staying busy and could fix just about anything. Naturally curious, Steve loved figuring out how things worked and was always willing to take on a project or learn something new. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Above all, Steve cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had a special place in his heart for animals and adored his beloved pets, Gabby, Queso, and Coco. His love, kindness, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Robin R. Meyers, age 56, of DeMotte, Indiana, tragically passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Hebron, Indiana.

Born on December 21, 1969, in Gary, Indiana, Robin was the beloved daughter of Mitchell and Kathryn (Trusky) Rogyom. She attended Kankakee Valley High School and graduated with the Class of 1988. Robin later earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Ivy Tech, beginning a career centered around caring for others.

Robin was a woman with a creative spirit and a special eye for beauty in things others might overlook. She had a passion for finding “diamonds in the rough,” a gift that eventually became her profession through her antique reselling business, Karmic Sunshine. She took great joy in discovering unique treasures and giving them a new life.

Above all, Robin treasured her family. She shared a particularly close bond with her mom and dad, and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Messiah, Keegan, and Fay, and cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Robin was also grateful for the opportunity to begin getting to know her siblings and creating new bonds and memories with them.

Robin will be lovingly remembered by her children, Anthony Jefferson, Katherine Jefferson, and Alicia Jefferson; her grandchildren, Messiah, Keegan, and Fay; her siblings; and numerous extended family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Linda Hancock, age 80, of Hebron, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born on December 25, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Harry and Mabel Deuberry. She was raised in a close-knit family alongside her four brothers and two sisters, all of whom preceded her in death.

After graduating from Merrillville High School, Linda began her career at Methodist Southlake Hospital in Merrillville. She later worked as a hotel clerk at the Hebron Comfort Inn and Suites, where she continued to bring her warmth and kindness to those around her.

Linda is survived by her three children, Kimberly Broad of Wheatfield, Don (Teri) Hancock of Wheatfield, and Noel Hancock of Hebron; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, cremation will take place, and there will be no public services at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Pangere Center at The Chicago Lighthouse.

Lana Erickson, age 78, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Crown Point, Indiana.

Born on November 4, 1947, in Huntsville, Alabama, Lana was the daughter of David and Jewel Nichols. She graduated from Bellville High School in Michigan before attending beauty school. On May 19, 1967, she married the love of her life, Keith Erickson Sr. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 2013.

Lana dedicated 30 years of her career to CFC International, where she worked as a machine operator. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially playing games with family and friends, with Left Right Center being one of her favorites. She loved spending time with her friends at Lakeside Community, traveling, and taking cruises whenever she had the opportunity. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed relaxing with Hallmark movies and episodes of The Golden Girls.

Lana will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Keith Jr. (Danel) Erickson of Lake Village and Kurt (Melissa) Erickson of Cedar Lake; her grandchildren, Taylor (Cameron), Emma, Jordan, Rusty, and Jack; her great-grandson, Everett; and her sisters, Wanda Copeland and Lois Parker.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith Erickson Sr., her parents, and sisters: Sharon, Suzanne, and Sheila.
