While the association has grown and changed, the mission of the Wyoming Pharmacy Association continues to be to advance and promote the practice and profession of pharmacy.

This August 31st, we're wearing purple and remembering the Wyomingites we've lost to overdose. We're also reminding every resident of this state: naloxone is available at pharmacies across Wyoming, no prescription required, and your pharmacist will help without judgment.

For a lot of Wyoming families, "run to the pharmacy" means a 40-minute drive, not a quick errand. That's exactly why planning ahead for back-to-school immunizations matters more here than almost anywhere else.

Before the school year starts, check with your local pharmacist — many Wyoming pharmacies can administer required vaccines on the spot, no separate clinic visit or long drive required. One stop, done.

Quick myth-check for August:

❌ "I need to drive to a clinic to get vaccinated."
✅ In many cases, your local Wyoming pharmacist can administer it right there — flu, shingles, RSV, and more.

❌ "Pharmacists just fill prescriptions."
✅ Pharmacists are trained, licensed immunizers and one of the most accessible healthcare providers in rural Wyoming.

❌ "I'll get to it eventually."
✅ Eventually is how outbreaks happen. Today's a good day.
