A safe space matters. 🌈

Therapy can be a place where LGBTQ+ individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore who they are, without judgment. It’s about building resilience, fostering self-acceptance, and creating space for authentic living.

This Pride Month, we honor every step of that journey. 💛

Pride Month is a reminder that feeling safe, seen, and supported can change a life. 🌈

If your child comes out to you, you don’t have to have all the answers right away. What matters most is how you respond in that moment, with love, curiosity, and openness.

If you need support, this blog shares compassionate guidance for parents navigating that conversation with their child.

You might feel isolated, worried that others could target your child or view their identity as a moral or parental failure. You might also feel an immense amount of relief, pride, or even joy that your child shared this part of themselves with you.

🌲 You’re not failing at being human because you’re anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or struggling to keep up.

It's Mental Health Awareness Month, and Evergreen Counseling is here to support the community. Your mental health is a part of your health, period — and feeling dysregulated in a chaotic world doesn’t mean you’re broken.

It’s May of 2025, and it’s Mental Health Awareness month. This almost feels like a cruel irony, because we’re only five months into this chaotic year and my own personal mental health has been dragged, stomped on, and flatlined.

Diet culture feels especially pervasive right now with the rise of GLP-1 medications and constant conversations about weight loss and body size.

It can be hard to escape messaging that ties worth, health, or success to appearance. Our latest blog breaks down 10 common diet culture myths and offers a more compassionate, balanced perspective on food, health, and body image.

When government-sanctioned fear shows up in our neighborhoods, our children's schools, and our daily life, it shakes our nervous system to the core.

Our new blog post, written by Evergreen Counseling owner, and trauma therapist, Priscilla Dean, unpacks what’s happening inside our bodies during collective crisis. She discussed why freeze, fight, flight, tears, rage, and even numbness are normal.

For those most at risk: survival is the goal.
For those safe enough to act: it may be time to fight.

by Priscilla Dean, LCPC Ever since Monday, September 17th, when governmental forces came to my neighborhood to terrorize my neighbors, I’ve been in a whirlwind of emotions and overwhelm. Initially, I froze. I had no way to know what to do or how to respond. While I know my white skin protects m

🌲 The holidays can stir up joy and exhaustion, comfort and overwhelm — sometimes all at once. 💛

If this season feels heavy, tender, or confusing, there is nothing wrong with you.

Inside each of us is an inner child — the part that holds our earliest needs for safety, comfort, joy, and play. When expectations pile up, that part can feel especially loud. And that’s not a flaw, it’s an invitation.

This season, what would it look like to meet yourself with curiosity instead of pressure? To offer comfort where it’s needed, create traditions that feel true to you, revisit small moments of nostalgia, and make room for play?

Your needs still matter. Your joy still counts. And reconnecting with your inner child might just be the most meaningful gift you give yourself this holiday. ✨

🌲 Everyone deserves therapy that feels safe, respectful, and truly their own.

For some people, that means using insurance. For others, it means choosing private pay to keep their mental health information completely confidential.

At Evergreen Counseling, we honor both paths.

If cost is a concern, we also offer sliding-scale options for clients who qualify, because privacy and access to care should never be mutually exclusive.

If you’d like to talk through what option feels right for you, our intake coordinator is here to help: [email protected]

Today, we pause to honor the lives of transgender and gender-expansive people who have been lost to violence. Transgender Day of Remembrance is a needed reminder that, for many in the trans community, simply existing in the world has not always been met with safety or compassion. It calls us to reflect, grieve, and recommit ourselves to creating a world where every person can live openly and authentically without fear.

At Evergreen Counseling, we believe that therapy can be a powerful place for healing, affirmation, and belonging. Identity-affirming care is not a specialty for us, it’s a standard. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

Today, and every day, we stand with the trans community. 🏳️‍⚧️
