Michael Neil Gail was born on November 25, 1948 in Wheaton, Minnesota to Alton and Lorraine (Larson) Gail. He passed away surrounded by his family on September 17, 2026 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Michael graduated in 1967 from Wheaton High School. He married his life long best friend, Jeannie Baldry on September 30, 1967. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Karen, Timothy and Mark.

After graduating from Moorhead State University in 1971, he began teaching elementary education in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, where he and Jeannie formed lifelong friendships.

In 1975 Michael moved his young family back to his hometown of Wheaton, Minnesota where he became the State Farm Insurance agent. Over the years, he formed many lasting friendships with his clients. In 2021 Michael retired after forty-six years to his lake home near Grey Eagle, Minnesota.

He was an avid sports enthusiast and rarely missed an opportunity to attend any sporting event or dance recital that his children or grandchildren were participating in. He immensely enjoyed coaching football and basketball and thought of his players as “his boys”. He was very proud of all of his kids!

He had a great love of vintage cars and thoroughly enjoyed buying, selling, fixing, restoring, researching and collecting old cars. He started working on cars at a very young age and over the years acquired a vast mechanical knowledge.

Michael is also survived by his sisters: Sandra Conroy, Lori (Brian) Draxten, Leann (Rick) Sando and brothers: Richard (Ann) Gail, Dennis (Sandy) Gail and Scott (Lisa) Gail; and many nieces and nephews who meant so very much to him.

Rita Ann Kaiser

Rita Ann Kaiser, 69, of Herman, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born on February 11, 1957, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to John and Anna Denoble. Rita lived in Norcross and graduated from Herman Norcross High School in 1975. On November 28, 1974, she married Mike Bertram, and together they were blessed with four children and made their home in Herman. On October 7, 1989, Rita married Steve “Pete” Kaiser. Together, they continued to make their home in Herman, where Rita created a place that was always filled with love, laughter, family, and friends.

Above all else, Rita treasured her family. Her greatest blessing was becoming a mother and grandmother, and this is where she received her special name, Dede. She loved nothing more than having her family by her side. She cherished when her grandchildren would stop by for a visit or gather around the table for a family meal. She rarely missed a sporting event or any other activity her children or grandchildren were involved in. Being present for the people she loved was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Rita’s home was truly an open door. All the neighborhood kids knew they were welcome and affectionately thought of Rita as their second mom. She treated the neighborhood children and her children’s friends just like they were her own. You could always tell who was at the Kaiser home by the number of shoes by the door and bicycles scattered across the lawn.

Rita’s love for God and her church was unwavering. She taught her children and grandchildren about the love of God and the Bible and found great joy in teaching Sunday school at church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was grateful for the opportunity to share it with the people she loved.

Rita touched many lives through the many things she did throughout her life. She owned and operated R&R Fabrics and also worked at REM House, the Senior Center, and Morris Floral.

Rita loved the changing seasons and took great pride in decorating both the inside and outside of her home. You never had to wonder what holiday was approaching when you drove by the Kaiser home. She loved making each season special and sharing that joy with everyone around her.

Rita loved going on scrapbook trips making cards and of course coffee with the ladies at AJ’s every morning. Flowers were another one of Rita’s great passions. She loved the flowers on her deck, her flower gardens, and especially her fairy garden. Each grandchild had their own fairy garden, and she even created them for some of the children in town. Rita took tremendous pride in her gardens, and if you ever had a question about flowers, gardening, or how to grow something, Rita was the person to ask.

Rita was known for her beautiful smile, positive attitude, and willingness to help others. She was always one of the first to jump in whenever someone needed a helping hand. Her contagious laugh and warm smile could brighten any room, and she had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

Rita will be deeply missed by her husband, Steve “Pete” Kaiser; her children, Missy (Ryan) Bright; Lisa (Scott) Libbesmeier; Scott (Jamie) Bertram; and Amy (Jason) Lennes; her nine grandchildren: Boe (Terianne), Macee, Tristin, Anna, Tatum, Makayla, Kaden, Hayley, and Izzy; and her great-granddaughter, Miley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Denoble.

Rita leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, laughter, family, faith, and a home where everyone always had a place. Her smile, contagious laugh, generous heart, beautiful gardens, and unconditional love will live on in the many lives she touched.

She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman with Rev. Cheryl Berg officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 26, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Herman Community Center in Herman.

Elizabeth Ann Blake was born August 30, 1952 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Graceville, Minnesota. She was the oldest of thirteen children born to Francis and Martha (Chalupnik) Blake. Elizabeth was baptized and confirmed in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She attended school in Graceville graduating from Graceville High School on May 29, 1970. She married Donald L. Parrow days later on June 27, 1970 also at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Following their marriage they made their home in Canby, Minnesota where Don attended electrical school, and later Chokio, Minnesota. In 1985 the couple moved to Perley, Minnesota. Elizabeth and Donald were blessed with two children Timothy and Rebecca.

Tragedy struck the family when on May 3, 1996 Timothy was killed in a car accident near Gardner, North Dakota. Two years later, on August 1, 1998 Donald and Rebecca died in a car accident when a drunk driver struck their car in Moorhead, Minnesota. Elizabeth went back to school and in 1993 received her Associate of Science degree from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She furthered her education receiving her Registered Nurse degree in 1999 from Fergus Falls Community College. She married Richard Hawkins on September 28, 2002 at the Assembly of God Church in West Fargo, North Dakota. Elizabeth worked as a nurse in nursing homes in the area, and also did home health. Richard passed away in October 13, 2016 and Elizabeth moved to Browns Valley to be closer to her family.

Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, embroidery, latch hook, making dolls, stuffed animals, doll clothes, quilting, baking, canning and gardening. Because of her love of sewing she leaves many cherished pieces, some finished, some unfinished for her family to enjoy.

Elizabeth had a deep, unshakable faith and love for God. She could be described as a very caring and selfless person.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her children Timothy and Rebecca; husbands: Donald and Richard; parents Francis and Martha Blake; father and mother-in-law Veloris and Mary Parrow; and brother-in-law Dean Schwagel.
