Dr. Crystal’s Personal Immune Boosting Protocol

Note: this is what I do and it’s customized to ME. Consult your trusted Naturopathic Doctor to set up an individualized protocol for your specific needs.

1. Vitamin C 1,000 twice a day
2. 1 TBS Elderberry Syrup twice a day
3. Propolis, Xylitol or silver based nasal spray twice a day- I rotate sprays to guard the nasal passages from bad-guy intruders
4. Propolis and/or Echinacea throat spray to guard the throat from germ intruders
5. Zinc/copper combo if my lab levels are low or I’ve been exposed to an illness
6. Fresh herbal teas from my garden- stinging nettles, holy basil, sage, thyme, oregano and rosemary get rotated- I love my stinging nettles!
7. Sleep!! Quality Sleep is everything for supporting the immune system. I utilize botanical nervines and cortisol reduction supports to support my sleep in perimenopause
8. Nutrition! As always, I aim for a whole food based diet high in plant color and low in sugar. If I’m exposed to an illness I completely cut cane sugar and reduce fruit sugars.

A Naturopathic Doctor has been named Director of NIH complementary and integrative medicine research branch. This is wonderful news as it’s often Naturopathic Doctors who teach and are founders of Functional Medicine but not always recognized.

NEWS: Wendy Weber, N.D., Ph.D., has been selected to serve as director of NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).

Dr. Weber will now oversee NCCIH’s $170 million budget which supports research that explores the fundamental science, usefulness, and safety of complementary/integrative health approaches and their roles in improving health.
Dr. Weber has served in a variety of roles since joining NIH in 2009. These include stints as acting NCCIH deputy director and acting director of the center’s extramural research division among others.

Her strategic management of clinical trials has driven real-world advancements in non-addictive pain management, such as acupuncture and mindfulness-based stress reduction.

Aim for a variety of flavonoids, especially blue/purple colors and Antioxidants during this environmental smoke PM 2.5. Concerned with foodborne illness? Go local, talk to a farmer or use what your garden has.

I ran out to my garden 🪴 today to gather plants that can be supportive to the oxidative stress effects of the PM 2.5 wildfire smoke toxins we’re experiencing in the area. I’m hoping to make a few videos to educate you on how to support your body and build antioxidant stores. The brain 🧠 fog and sore throat struggle is real over here 👈! You can take charge of your health! I’m going to eat some of my harvest, drink clean water and rest. BRB
