An Update on Acupuncture Services

Many of you have reached out with questions and personal stories about what acupuncture care means to you. We heard you, and want to share an update.

Dr. Monte Gores, who provided acupuncture services to our patients for many years, has departed NBHCP. We are grateful for his years of care and wish him well.

His departure prompted a careful review of the program's long-term sustainability, as we are required to do for every service we offer. After evaluating both the operational data and the community need, our board has decided to continue acupuncture services at NBHCP.

We are finalizing staffing and next steps and will share more details soon. Thank you for your patience and for caring so deeply about this community's health.

FACILITY UPDATE

We are in the home stretch of our facility restoration following the May 12 water leak. Repair work is ongoing and we continue to be open regular hours across all services.

As construction crews wrap up the final phases of work, please be aware of active repairs during your visit. When you arrive, please check in at the front desk and a staff member will assist you.

Pharmacy patients: Please proceed directly to the pharmacy. Please note that we are currently determining the best approach for completing pharmacy renovations with the least disruption to patients. We will share more details as plans are finalized.

We could not have gotten through these past weeks without the patience and grace of our patients and community. Thank you for sticking with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to a fully restored facility soon.

Things are looking up! 🌟

Drying progress over the weekend has been significant. ServPro is monitoring all affected areas today and equipment is beginning to come out as areas reach their drying goals.

Pharmacy and dental are open at regular hours. Medical appointments are resuming, though we are still operating at limited capacity as repairs continue. We appreciate your patience as we work through the final stages of recovery.

What a week it has been. Nothing quite like arriving Tuesday morning to discover the first floor covered in water to get the day started! 💧

But what happened next is what we really want you to know about.

The Nehalem Bay Health District was on-site immediately to help coordinate the response. Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue, Wheeler Public Works, SERVPRO Team McGinnis, and Bremik Construction all jumped in quickly. And our own team never skipped a beat.

Our staff showed up in every sense of the word. They greeted patients at the door, helped them navigate the facility safely, and kept care going as much as they possibly could. Medical staff adapted on the fly and moved upstairs to continue seeing patients. Pharmacy kept filling prescriptions and offered curbside pickup from the parking lot. Dental stayed open throughout. We could not be more proud of this team.

Just days later, restoration work is well underway, and we are looking forward to resuming more services next week.

This team is extraordinary, and this community has been incredibly kind. Thank you for your patience and support!

Nehalem Bay Health Center & Pharmacy is temporarily closed today due to a water leak that has also affected power and phone service. We are working to resolve the situation and will post an update as soon as we are able to reopen.

Today's appointments have been affected. Our team will reach out to reschedule once services are restored.
