Each year, PAI Program Directors and Supervisors coordinate the Site Awards to recognize some of the inspiring and dedicated Direct Support Professionals. Staff are treated to a catered lunch before the peer-voted award winners are announced.

Four main awards are presented: Person-Centered Advocate, Program Champion, Team Player, and Rookie of the Year. One of the most meaningful parts of the celebration is hearing the kind words staff share about why each winner was selected.

We are proud to present the winners at Linden:

Person-Centered Advocate: Monica
Program Champion: Laura
Team Player: Alice
Rookie of the Year: Kelly

Congratulations to the 2026 Site Award winners at Linden!

After more than seven years with PAI, our Chief Operating Officer, Alicia McCallum (pictured left), wrapped up her time with the organization this month. Alicia has played an important role in PAI’s success, and her impact will continue to be felt across the organization. While we are sad to see Alicia go, we are grateful for her years of leadership and wish her the best in what comes next.

As we say goodbye to Alicia, we are very pleased to share that Senior Program Director, Cortney Kelly (pictured right), has been promoted to Vice President of Operations, assuming Alicia’s scope of responsibilities! For the past seven years, Cortney has been an important part of PAI’s programming. We look forward to seeing her bring that same dedication and experience to the full set of programs and support functions that make PAI services come to life.

“We are excited to see Cortney step into this role. Her experience, leadership, and commitment to participants and staff will help guide PAI forward,” said Mike Miner, President of PAI, adding that “Alicia has been an important part of PAI’s growth, and we are grateful for everything she has contributed over the last seven years.”

Please join us in congratulating Cortney as she assumes her new role and thanking Alicia for her contributions.

Geologists for the Day at PAI-Linden! Participants recently took part in a hands-on adventure using a National Geographic Gemstone Dig Kit—and transformed into real-life geologists for the day!

With excavation tools in hand, everyone carefully chipped away at digging blocks to uncover hidden gemstones. Along the way, participants compared colors, shapes and textures while learning about different rocks and minerals found around the world.

This fun discovery activity helped build patience, problem-solving skills and fine motor development, all while sparking curiosity and lots of great conversation about what might be uncovered next!

Participants at PAI-Commerce and PAI-Parkway recently had a blast welcoming instructors from the White Bear Center for the Arts for a fun painting class right at each program site! 🎨🌊

Although the classes were held on different days, everyone enjoyed creating their own beach-inspired canvases and adding personal touches that made each piece one of a kind. The rooms were filled with creativity, conversation, and lots of excitement as the artwork came to life. We’re grateful to the WBCA for sharing their time, talent, and creativity with our participants!

Kirby recently spent the afternoon enjoying a round of mini golf with the support of a PAI staff member! The outing was centered around Kirby's interests, giving him the opportunity to enjoy one of his favorite activities while building everyday skills along the way. From purchasing admission and taking turns to navigating the course and interacting with staff and fellow golfers, every stop along the course offered a chance to practice independence, all while having fun!
