The Buddhist service comes with some very beautiful Verses for Contemplation that are lovely to have on hand for attendees.

β€œJust as the dewdrop, at the point of the grassblade at sunrise, very soon vanishes and does not remain for long: just so is the dewdrop-like life of men very short and fleeting.”

~ the Buddha, Anguttara Nikaya

πŸ₯‡ JASON MEADOWS πŸ₯‡

Jason Meadows is honored to serve others with compassion, integrity, and respect. Born and raised in Crossville, Jason moved to Springfield in 2014 and considers it a privilege to serve the families of Middle Tennessee. Throughout his career, Jason has been passionate about helping individuals and families navigate important decisions through honest guidance, careful listening, and a genuine desire to serve.

Before joining Cole & Garrett, Jason spent years helping people prepare for the future and make important decisions with confidence. Those experiences gave him a deep appreciation for the importance of planning ahead, protecting loved ones, and helping families find peace of mind before a time of need.

Jason believes every family deserves to be treated with dignity, patience, and genuine care. Whether assisting with advance planning or supporting families through immediate decisions, his goal is to make the process as comfortable and meaningful as possible while honoring each person's unique life, values, and wishes.

Outside of work, Jason is a family man to his core. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their three sons, as well as tending to their backyard chickens. Guided by faith, compassion, and a heart for serving others, Jason strives to care for every family as if they were his own.

Funeral Etiquette Tips

Attending a funeral is a meaningful way to show support, honor a life, and offer comfort to those who are grieving. While every service is unique, these simple etiquette tips can help you navigate the day with confidence and compassion.

Before You Arrive

* Read the obituary or service information carefully for details about the type of service, dress preferences, and whether the family has requested flowers or memorial donations.

* Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early to allow time to sign the guest register and be seated before the service begins.

* Dress respectfully. Traditional attire is typically conservative and subdued, but some families may request specific colors or attire to celebrate their loved one's life.

During the Service

* Be fully present. Your presence alone is a meaningful source of comfort to the family.

* Silence your phone and avoid unnecessary conversations during the service.

* Offer simple, heartfelt condolences. A sincere "I'm so sorry for your loss" or "Your family is in my thoughts" is often the most meaningful.

* Be mindful of the atmosphere. Some services are solemn, while others celebrate a life with laughter and shared memories. Follow the family's lead and respect the tone they have chosen.

* Participate in the service as you feel comfortable and follow any guidance provided by the officiant or funeral staff.

After the Service

* If invited, attend the graveside service, reception, or memorial gathering to continue showing your support.

* Consider sending a sympathy card, flowers, or a memorial donation if requested by the family.

* Remember that support doesn't end after the funeral. A phone call, meal, or thoughtful message in the weeks that follow can mean just as much to someone who is grieving.

At Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, we're honored to help families create meaningful services while providing guidance and support every step of the way. Small acts of kindness and respect can make a lasting difference during life's most difficult moments. πŸ’•
