I love you if you’re disabled.

I love you if you’re neurodivergent.

I love you if you’re Black.

I love you if you’re white.

I love you if you’re Hispanic, Asian, Indigenous, or from somewhere I’ve never been.

I love you if you’re celebrating Pride this month.

I love you if you’re still figuring out who you are.

I love you if you were born here.

I love you if you weren’t.

I love you if you speak a different language.

I love you if your beliefs look different than mine.

I love you if life has been kind to you.

I love you if life has broken your heart.

I love you if you’re thriving.

I love you if you’re struggling.

I love you if you’ve found your voice.

I love you if you’re still searching for it.

Because at the end of the day, my advocacy has never been about choosing WHO deserves compassion.

It’s about recognizing that EVERY human being deserves dignity, belonging, opportunity, and love.

The world will always give us reasons to focus on what makes us different.

I’d rather focus on what makes us human.

Love isn’t weakness.

Love isn’t surrender.

Love is how we build stronger communities, better systems, and a world where everyone has the chance to belong.

And as long as I have a voice, I’ll continue advocating for exactly that.

✨ OUT OF OFFICE: Through June 8 ✨

For the next week, you’ll find me doing something I encourage others to do, but don’t always give myself permission to do:

Resting. Reflecting. Recalibrating.

I’ll be honoring all currently scheduled appointments, but I won’t be accepting any new meetings until after June 8 as I take some intentional time to recharge.

Yesterday’s lunch conversation left me inspired, energized, and floating around more ideas than I can count. The sign behind us summed it up perfectly:

“God’s Plan.”

Lately, I’ve been spending time thinking about what comes next — not from a place of urgency, but from a place of true alignment.

The truth is, every meaningful chapter of my life has started when I stopped forcing outcomes and started listening more carefully to where I was being led.

So for now, I’m slowing down enough to hear myself think.

I’m taking better care of my health.
I’m protecting my peace.
I’m exploring new possibilities.

And I’m making sure that whatever comes next is built intentionally, sustainably, and in alignment with the life I’m creating.

The work isn’t stopping.

The mission isn’t changing.

I’m simply giving myself the space to make sure the next steps are the right ones.

See you on the other side of this reset. ☕💛

Your Caffeinated Advocate is temporarily running on warm beverages ☕️🍵, naps 🥱, and stubbornness. 😅 Taking a short pause to rest and reset. If I owe you a response, I’ll reconnect after the holiday weekend. Be back soon. ☕️🌻💛

Ok ... THIS feels like someone took the inside of my brain, heart, coffee addiction, advocacy work, late-night editing sessions, and “let’s make the world kinder” energy… and turned it into art. ChatGPT even included Abby Dog! 🥹

Storytelling.
Empathy.
Messy humanity.
Mission.
The little tiny details.

I’m honestly blown away.

Advocacy is not always loud, my friends — a lot of it is listening, connecting, writing, showing up, staying soft when the world tells you not to, and continuing to believe EVERYONE'S stories matter.

This sketch somehow captured all of that. It's magical. I had to share. 💛☕️🌻

☕️🌻💛

We Can Do Better was never meant to be a presentation.

It was meant to be a conversation.

What unfolded in the room was bigger than slides, bigger than talking points, and far bigger than me.

People showed up. They leaned in. They shared stories. They asked hard questions. They reflected. They were vulnerable. They challenged assumptions.

Together, we explored what becomes possible when we stop asking “Who should respond?” and start asking “How can we respond better together?”

Watching people gather around The Caffeinated Advocate table… flipping through pages of Imprisoned No More, grabbing giveaways, answering reflection prompts, and continuing conversations that needed to keep going.

Because this event was never been about me being the loudest voice in the room and lecturing.

It was about creating a safe space for people to feel seen, ask better questions, gain strategies, and leave believing change is possible.

And one of the most meaningful things I heard afterward?

People want this conversation brought into their own communities — more groups, more first responder departments, more schools, more businesses, and so much more.

That stopped me in my tracks.

Because that’s how change happens.

Not all at once.
Not from one person.
But room by room.
Story by story.
Conversation by conversation.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me with your stories last night. I’m carrying them with me today, and I will not forget them.

This is only the beginning. ☕️✨

If you want to bring this conversation into a space that you feel passionate about, please reach out. 🫶🏻

Something really beautiful has been happening lately… ☕💛🌻

The Caffeinated Advocate continues to grow in ways I never imagined. More families. More caregivers. More professionals. More conversations. More opportunities to connect, support, teach, write, advocate, and build community together.

As I look toward expanding my offerings and continuing this journey, I would LOVE to hear from those who have been part of it. ✨

If we’ve worked together in any capacity, would you consider sharing a testimonial?

Maybe I’ve supported you through caregiver coaching, helped you as an editor or writing coach, presented at your organization, encouraged you through advocacy, or simply made you feel seen and understood along the way.

You might share:
☕ How our work together impacted you
☕ What you gained from coaching or support
☕ What it was like working with me as an editor or writing coach
☕ Something meaningful you took away from a presentation or training
☕ What you’d tell someone considering working with The Caffeinated Advocate

Your words truly mean the world to me — and they help other families, caregivers, and professionals find support they may desperately need. 💛

Thank you for being part of this community and for believing in this mission alongside me.

You can DM me with your testimonial if you're in participating.
I can't thank you enough!

One week from today, we’re coming together in my hometown for a conversation that matters. 💛

Not politics.

Not judgment.

Humanity.

Because crisis doesn’t always look the way people think it does.

Sometimes it looks like autism.

Sometimes trauma.

Sometimes mental illness, addiction, overwhelm, fear, or a parent desperately trying to hold it together in public … like me. And THAT result? That result was my arrest.

Too often, the difference between escalation and safety is whether someone chose compassion.

Next Tuesday night, we’re going to talk honestly about what’s really happening in these moments — and what every single one of us can do to help build a kinder, safer, more informed community.

If you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, first responder, business employee, advocate, or simply a human who wants to do better… this conversation is for you.

✨ Please come.

✨ Please share.

✨ Please help us fill this room with people willing to lead with compassion.

Scan the QR code. I’ll see you there.

This weekend, I completed the first full round of edits on a manuscript that absolutely stopped me in my tracks. And yes, I put in multiple hours on Mother's Day, starting in the wee hours of the morning (with a BIG cup of coffee in hand). ☕️

As an editor, there are projects you work on where you're just checking grammar and punctuation with your virtual red pen. 🖋️

And then there are those that run through your mind long after you close the document.

This was one of them.

What makes this experience so meaningful isn’t just the writing itself (which was powerful, raw, and real), but the shared understanding behind it.

Two autism moms.
Two advocates.
Two women who understand what it means to carry stories that are both deeply personal and desperately needed.

At one point while sending the edited manuscript back, I told the author:
“This is a gift for Mother’s Day, from my mama heart to yours.” 🥹

I meant every word.

Because this is why I walk around these storytelling streets. 🚶‍♀️🛣️📚

Not simply to correct grammar or polish sentences, but to help people strengthen the moments that matter the most. I want to partner with authors so their readers feel seen, understood, and connected to the heart behind the story.

Storytelling matters.
Voices matter.
Truth matters ... and being trusted with someone’s truth is something I will never, ever take lightly. 🫶

If you’ve been thinking about writing your story, publishing your work, or finding support to shape your message, I’d love to walk alongside you through the process.

I'm your Caffeinated Advocate. ☕️💛🌻

Storytelling with a heart, strategy, lived experience, and the commitment to getting your message across the world. 🌎

Today, I’m thinking about the many ways motherhood exists in this world. 💛

To the moms raising babies, teenagers, and grown children.
To the grandmothers, bonus moms, foster moms, adoptive moms, aunties, mentors, and women who mother through love alone.
To the mothers grieving, the mothers longing, the single mothers carrying entire worlds, and the women quietly holding everyone together while running on empty.

And today, with my whole “caffeinated heart” … I especially want to honor the mothers within the neurodivergent and disability communities. ☕️🌻

The mothers attending appointments, therapies, IEP meetings, hospital visits, and sleepless nights — while somehow still showing up with fierce love and relentless advocacy.

The mothers celebrating milestones others may never fully understand.
The mothers fighting broken systems while protecting dignity.
The mothers carrying invisible exhaustion while continuing to pour love into their children and families every single day.

I see you.

Your motherhood is not less because it looks different.
Your children are not less because they experience our world differently.
And your love is one of the most powerful things I have ever witnessed.

Today is for ALL mothers.
Not just the picture-perfect moments, but the real, resilient, messy, beautiful kind of motherhood that changes the world every single day.

Happy Mother’s Day to every woman who has ever nurtured, protected, advocated, sacrificed, or loved with a mother’s heart.

You are deeply seen.
You are deeply appreciated.
And you are so very loved. 💛☕️🌻
