DON’T PANIC. STAY INFORMED.

There have been recent reports of measles in our region, but there’s no need to panic. The best way to protect your child is to stay informed and ensure they are up to date on their vaccinations.

✅ If your child has received both recommended doses of the MMR vaccine, they are highly protected against measles. Two doses are 97% effective against measles.

💉 The MMR vaccine is highly safe and effective and is the best protection against measles:
• 1st dose: 12 months of age
• 2nd dose: 4–6 years of age

🚨 Important Health & Safety Update

There have been recent reports of measles cases in Southern Maryland, and PM Kidz is taking extra precautions to protect our patients—especially our infants and children who are not yet fully vaccinated.

If your child has been exposed to measles or is experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes, or a rash, please do not bring them into the office. Instead, call us first so we can determine the safest next steps.

💻 Telehealth appointments are available daily from 9:00 AM until 12:00 midnight, allowing one of our providers to evaluate your child from the comfort and safety of home.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. This day is a celebration of freedom and an important reminder of the ongoing journey towards equality and justice for all.

On Mondays, Dr. Brown and NP Lea somehow manage to coordinate without even trying and today’s matching lavender scrubs are the perfect reminder that a little color can go a long way in brightening someone’s day. ✨
