If you've ever left your first pelvic floor evaluation thinking...

"Wait... why did we spend so much time talking about my breathing, stress levels, and bathroom habits?"

There's a reason.

Your pelvic floor doesn't work by itself.

It works alongside your diaphragm, your core, your hips, your nervous system, and even your daily habits. That's why we ask questions that might not seem related at first.

How you breathe.
How often you use the bathroom.
How you exercise.
How you sleep.
How stressed you've been lately.

They're not random questions.
They're pieces of a much bigger puzzle.

Because when we understand the whole picture, we can create a treatment plan that's built around you, not just your symptoms.

Quick question:

When you're stressed, do you clench your jaw?

Most people know stress can show up in their neck, shoulders, and jaw.

What many people don't realize is that it can show up in their pelvic floor, too.

Your body is constantly adapting to what you're experiencing physically, mentally, and emotionally. Stress, tension, and overwhelm don't just live in your head. They can influence how you breathe, how you move, and how much tension you carry throughout your body.

Including your pelvic floor.

That's one reason why pelvic floor therapy often goes beyond the pelvic floor itself. We may talk about breathing, stress management, movement, and nervous system regulation because everything is connected.

Your body isn't working against you.

It's responding to what it's been carrying.

Are you a jaw clencher when you're stressed?

There’s something powerful about showing up for your community.

On Saturday, August 8, we’ll be coming together to pack menstrual care kits for Flow Forward, a period program by Milwaukee Diaper Mission, helping ensure that people in our community have access to the period products they need.

For many of us, buying period products is something we rarely think twice about. But for far too many individuals, it’s a monthly decision between purchasing basic necessities and buying the products they need to manage their period with dignity.

That’s why we’re so excited to partner with Anne Mank for Pack With a Purpose—an afternoon of giving back, learning more about period equity, and making a tangible difference together.

Whether you come with your daughter, your best friend, your family, or on your own, we’d love to have you join us.

🩷 Saturday, August 8
🕐 1:00–3:00 PM
📍 HerTime Training Center | Franklin, WI

Registration:
💗 $25 per family
💗 $15 per individual

Every dollar goes directly toward purchasing the period products we’ll pack together during the event.

Sign up through the link in our bio, or send us a DM and we’ll send you the registration link!

Let’s create real impact—one care kit, one conversation, and one community at a time. ❤️

When people think about pelvic floor symptoms, they often assume the solution starts with the pelvic floor itself.

But sometimes the bigger question is:

What is your pelvic floor responding to?

Your pelvic floor doesn't work in isolation. It's constantly working alongside your breathing, core, nervous system, bowel habits, and movement patterns.

That means seemingly unrelated habits like holding your breath when lifting, constantly sucking in your stomach, ignoring constipation, or living in a constant state of stress can all place extra demands on the system.

Think of your pelvic floor like a member of a team.

If everyone else is struggling, overworking, or not communicating well, eventually that teammate starts feeling the effects too.

This isn't about doing everything perfectly.

It's about becoming curious about the habits and patterns that might be contributing to symptoms like leaking, pressure, pelvic pain, constipation, or urgency.

Because sometimes your pelvic floor doesn't need more effort.

Sometimes it needs more support.

If you were diagnosed with prolapse today, take a deep breath. 🤍

A prolapse diagnosis can bring up a lot of emotions.
Fear.
Frustration.
Confusion.
Questions about what comes next.

Many people immediately assume they will never exercise again, never lift their children again, or that surgery is their only option.

But that is not the full story.

Prolapse is common, but that does not mean you have to simply live with symptoms that are affecting your quality of life.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you better understand what is happening in your body, improve how you manage pressure, reduce symptoms, and build confidence in movement again.

For many people, the goal is not perfection.

The goal is feeling more comfortable, more supported, and more in control of their body.

So if you were diagnosed with prolapse today, here is what we want you to remember:
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
You are not out of options.
You deserve support, education, and a plan that helps you keep doing the things that matter most to you.

Save this for someone who may need to hear it today.

📞 Ring ring...

Your pelvic floor called.

It wanted us to let you know that something exciting is coming to the Milwaukee area. 👀

We've been keeping a little secret, and honestly, it's getting harder and harder not to spill the details.

For now, we'll just say this:
More support.
More access.
More pelvic health.

Stay tuned 🤍

Pelvic floor dysfunction does not always look the way people expect

Many people think pelvic floor issues only mean leaking urine, but symptoms can show up in many different ways throughout the body.

Sometimes it looks like bladder urgency or frequency.

Sometimes it feels like pressure, heaviness, or prolapse symptoms.

And sometimes it shows up as hip pain, back pain, digestive issues, or a feeling that something just is not functioning quite right.

The pelvic floor is connected to your core, breathing, bowel and bladder function, movement, and overall support system. When it is not functioning efficiently, symptoms can show up in places you might not expect.

Many of these symptoms are common, but they should not be ignored or dismissed as something you simply have to live with.

Understanding the root cause is often the first step toward finding relief and getting back to the activities you enjoy.

Save this post if any of these symptoms sound familiar, or share it with someone who may be looking for answers.

As parents, it's easy to wonder:

"Is this something they'll grow out of?"

And sometimes they do.

But sometimes accidents, constipation, bedwetting, urgency, or withholding are signs that a child may need a little extra support.

One of the biggest misconceptions about pediatric pelvic floor therapy is that it's only for severe issues. In reality, many of the children we see are dealing with challenges that have quietly become part of everyday life. Rushing to the bathroom. Avoiding public restrooms. Frequent tummy aches. Accidents that affect confidence. Fear around bowel movements.

These experiences can impact much more than bladder and bowel habits. They can affect school, sports, sleepovers, self-esteem, and a child's relationship with their body.

The good news? Kids are incredibly adaptable.

With the right tools, support, and guidance, many children can learn healthier bladder and bowel habits, improve body awareness, and feel more confident in their daily lives.

And parents don't have to figure it out alone.

At Pelvic Health & Wellness, our pediatric sessions are play-based, supportive, and designed to meet kids exactly where they are.

Because every child deserves to feel confident in their body, and every parent deserves answers that go beyond "just wait and see."
