October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so consider this your friendly reminder to educate yourself, know the facts, and advocate for yourself and the people you love. 💗

Here are a few numbers worth knowing:

🎀 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

🎀 Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S., accounting for about 32% of newly diagnosed cancers.

🎀 About every 2 minutes, a new case of breast cancer is diagnosed in the U.S.

🎀 In 2026, approximately 322,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with about 2,670 cases in men.

🎀 Some encouraging news: improvements in early detection and treatment contributed to a 44% decline in the breast cancer death rate in the U.S. between 1989 and 2023.

And to everyone who has been affected by breast cancer—patients, survivors, thrivers, caregivers, family and friends—sending you all a huge hug.

A little love letter to texting…from your service provider. 😂

If you’ve ever wondered why your massage therapist, hairstylist, esthetician, nail tech, or other service provider says, “Just text me!”—here’s why:

💆‍♀️ We’re probably with a client and can’t answer the phone.

📵 Phone tag gets exhausting. I called you back, you called me back, I called you back...see, I'm already exhausted 😆

📅 Our schedule apps are often on our phones, so texting makes it much easier to check availability and get you booked without using multiple devices.

📝 We have a written record of the date, time, and details we agreed on—which means fewer scheduling mistakes.

📍 We can send important details in writing. Addresses, parking instructions, appointment reminders, etc.

😅 Best of all, you don't have to receive one of my rambling voicemail messages!

Of course, if something is urgent or easier to explain by phone, call away! ❤️

I talk about the lymphatic system all day, but most people don’t give it much thought—until they need it. So, let’s get acquainted. Meet your lymphatic system…

Every day, about 20 liters of fluid leave your blood capillaries and bathe your cells and tissues, delivering important nutrients and oxygen. 💦

During that exchange, some of that fluid, along with proteins and cellular waste, is left behind in your tissues.

This is where your lymphatic system comes in (the body's second circulation network).

Think of it as your body’s drainage and recycling system. It collects this protein-rich fluid, moves it through your lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes, and ultimately returns it—along with valuable proteins—to your bloodstream.

In fact, your lymphatic system can recover roughly 75–100 grams of protein each day.

It’s also an important part of your immune system, with lymph nodes acting as checkpoints that help your body identify and respond to things that don’t belong there. 🦠

So, while your lymphatic system may not get as much attention as your circulatory system, it’s quietly working behind the scenes every day to help maintain fluid balance, recover proteins, clear cellular debris, and support your immune system. 💚
