It was one of those perfect weather days to take a drive to the Lizton Dairy Barn for lunch!! All the GOOD STUFF was there!! A few of us had tacos, others had hotdogs, but we all had a dairy treat of some sort.
Flurries, milkshakes, sundaes; you name it, they had it!
Next time you're traveling St Rd 39 and St Rd 136, plan to stop and get a quick bite or snack at the Barn.
You won't be disappointed!🐂🍦🌮😍

Our group ventured over to PIttsboro for a morning class in ceramics, with Sally.
We had tons of options from which to choose and our instructor has 53 years of ceramic experience under her belt.
Painting and listening to some light music and visiting quietly really seemed to relax the soul.
The residents voted a unaminous YES for a return visit!!

We were blessed last week to partner with the New Hope Women's Ministry as they came to play Bingo with our folks, and work on fall wreaths!
Our residents had so much fun and enjoyed every minute with these beautiful volunteers.
They will be back in September for some more Bingo, and a cooking class. Seats will fill up fast for that!!

My Favorite Animal
Our teacher asked what my favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."
She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed. My parents told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA.
He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef. Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office.
I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was.
I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken.
She sent me back to the principal's office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.
I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am.
Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most. I told her, "Colonel Sanders." Guess where I am now...

Have a great day!! Keep on smilin!! :)

Michelle Latimore, Licensed Insurance Broker with Elevate Life stops in monthly to play a game and educate our residents on the in's and out's of Medicare/Medicaid.
There is so much to know and with open enrollment coming up, we are soaking up information as fast as we can.
**Look for an open to the public information session in October--residents AND family members AND community friends can all come and enjoy some refreshments, and hopefully, get some questions answered.

Bill is new to our community......figures the last prize Michelle handed out was a ladies scarf, which Bill won......but he is such a good sport and we fashioned it quickly in to a dew rag!! (What you don't know, is that Bill won the star shaped pierced earrings at our July 4th party!!!!!!!!)😆😆😉--we just love him and the way he handles things in stride!!

How fresh is your sweet corn??
We were able to get ours FRESH out of the field!
We worked up an appetite and stopped for lunch at Booker's. It was an official tenderloin Tuesday, so half of us had tenderloin, and the rest enjoyed fish or chicken....absolutely delicious!
