Women's Collective welcomes Carr Funeral Home to Northbridge Senior Center
NORTHBRIDGE — The Women's Collective at the Northbridge Senior Center recently welcomed Heather Carr Reiter and Abbie Jackman-Tallent of Carr Funeral Home for a fascinating and enjoyable presentation about the family's long history in funeral service and how the profession has changed over the years.
This year marks a special milestone for Carr Funeral Home, as it celebrates its 175th year of serving families. Heather Carr Reiter is a sixth-generation funeral director, while Abbie Jackman-Tallent proudly represents the third generation of her family in the profession. Together, they shared stories of growing up in the family business and what it means to continue a tradition that has served the community for generations.
Heather and Abbie spoke about how funeral service has evolved over the past 20 years. From changes in funeral attire and religious traditions to the use of technology and the growing popularity of personalized memorial services, they offered an inside look at how the profession continues to adapt while keeping families' needs at the center of everything they do.
The morning was filled with thoughtful questions, shared memories, and plenty of laughter. The women in attendance were eager to learn more, making for a lively discussion and everyone appreciated the opportunity to have such an open conversation about a subject that touches every family.
