Introducing 3D-printed Mini Toy AAC Devices by Autism Momma, Katie Parkin!

“This project was inspired by my daughter Ava. We started Ava’s AAC journey as a toddler; witnessing her grow since then has been one of the greatest joys of my life. It gave her a voice, a way to advocate for herself, communicate her needs, share her feelings, and so much more. I truly believe that children learn through play. As I sat on the floor playing with my daughter and her toys, I noticed one thing missing: an AAC device! I knew then that I wanted to make a mini toy AAC device to go with her Babies, Bluey Toys, and all of her favorite characters. After I got the design I wanted, I thought about how cool it would be if all children integrated AAC devices into their play to promote inclusivity and help AAC users feel represented. You can find these Mini Toy AAC devices exclusively at simplispeech.org/shop”

Motivate Children’s Therapy is officially joining Simpli Speech in downtown Fenton to provide Occupational Therapy services alongside our Speech Therapy services at the NEW Motivate Children’s Therapy location! 🎉

We are so excited to bring speech and occupational therapy side by side under one roof — creating an even more supportive, collaborative space for children and families in the Fenton community!

Occupational therapy can help children build new skills and greater independence in areas such as:
