Loved every moment!! Except the miscommunication between Mac and PC on my slides, lol. I chose a beautiful blue, but technology decided green, pink and purple were my colors. You roll with whatever in public speaking…Thanks for all the connections this coalition is making!! No one serves alone! β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

Having power in a relationship isn't wrong. Everyone has some. What matters is how it's used.

"Power with" looks like shared voice and mutual respect.

"Power under" looks like helping and lifting the other person up.

"Power over" looks like controlling, overriding, and pushing someone down to keep them in line.

Jesus spoke to this directly. He told his disciples that the rulers of the world lord it over people, and then he said it must not be that way among them. Greatness, he said, looks like serving (Mark 10:42-45).

Here are four questions to ask yourself, privately:
Can I be who God made me to be in this relationship?
Am I free to disagree?
What happens when I say no?
Do I have a real voice in decisions?

If saying no comes with a price, that matters. LITD is here locally to support you. [email protected]

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. πŸ•―οΈ

At 7:00 tonight, wherever you are, light a candle and let it burn for at least an hour. As each time zone reaches 7:00, the candles form a wave of light that travels around the world.

This is for the baby you lost at six weeks. The one you delivered at twenty-four. The one who lived for a day, and the one who lived for a season. It's for the ones you never got to name out loud.

It's for mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and friends. You loved them. They mattered.

If it helps, say their name tonight. Or just sit with the light for a while. You don't have to be okay. You're not alone in this.

If you'd like a place to talk about your loss, we're here.

Every relationship has hard seasons. A difficult relationship and a destructive one can look alike from the outside. So how do you tell the difference?

Not by whether someone hurts you. Everyone does at some point. Look at what they do next.

In a difficult relationship, the person owns what they did. They care how it landed, they make amends, and they change over time. Repair is possible.

In a destructive one, the response is blame, excuses, or "you're too sensitive." Sometimes a Bible verse gets aimed at you. And the behavior comes back.

Jesus said you know a tree by its fruit (Matthew 7:16). Changed hearts and actions over time are fruit.

This isn't a way to diagnose your partner. If the right side sounds like home, talk to a counselor or an advocate who can see the whole picture.

Ilyssa, our office manager, has been busy with her crochet hooks.

For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, she's making infinity fidgets in purple. Each one is handmade and just $5.

Why a fidget? When your thoughts are loud, busy hands can help you settle. Run your fingers along the twist. Slow your breathing. Keep it in your bag, pocket, or your car for the moments you need it.

You can pick one up in our lobby during office hours. No appointment needed. No forms. Nobody will ask you why.

Plus, every dollar helps someone get care they couldn't otherwise afford.

As September winds down, we wanted to pause and say thank you.

This has been a season of real change: a new space, new partnerships, new services, and more growth than we probably could have planned for on purpose. None of it would mean anything without this community walking through it alongside us.

Thank you for trusting us, referring us, and choosing us, over and over again. We don't take it for granted.
