She didn't come to the well at noon by accident.

Noon was the hottest, loneliest hour — when no one else would be there. She had reasons to avoid people. History that followed her. A reputation she hadn't asked for but couldn't escape.

Her mind, body, and spirit knew the sting of rejection and isolation from her community.

So she came to well at the empty hour.

And He was already there. Not waiting to correct her. Not building a case. Just... present. Asking for water. Meeting her like a person.

He told her everything she ever did. And then she ran back to the very crowd she'd been avoiding.

Not because the past changed, but because being fully seen without being shamed had changed something in her.

That's not just theology. That's what happens when the nervous system experiences genuine safety for the first time. The walls don't need to be there anymore.

You were made to be known. Fully. And still welcomed. 💙

We talk a lot about the courage it takes to say the hard thing.

But there's another half of that equation that doesn't get enough attention: what happens after you say it.

Safety in a relationship isn't only about being brave enough to speak. It's about knowing that when you do — you'll be met with curiosity instead of defense. Presence instead of shutdown. Ears that are actually trying to understand.

Both people hold that. Both people build it — or break it.

If the honest conversations in your relationship have started to feel more like risks than connections, that's worth paying attention to. 💙

While back home in the States, everything is just getting going this Friday morning, we’re kicking off this conference this evening. I did what anyone traveling to Italy for the first time would do when we got here…found authentic Napoli pizza!! Next pic is an incredible lemon cheesecake…

Pray and cheer for us as all of our preparation becomes action tonight. We’re expecting life changing impact and connection!

Summer looks different for every family.
Yours doesn't have to match anyone else's.

Somewhere right now, someone is posting beach photos. Coordinated outfits. Smiling kids. Perfect lighting.

And somewhere else, someone is trying to figure out how to get through two and a half months with kids home, schedules changed, and a to-do list that never gets shorter.

Both are real. Both are valid.

You don't have to have the Pinterest summer to have a good one.

Some of the best memories are made in the ordinary — the long drive, the backyard, the slow weekend.

Give yourself permission to have the summer you actually have. 💙

June is here.

Maybe you've been meaning to reach out to us. Maybe things got busy — or heavy — or both.
Maybe you've just been surviving the in-between.

You're not behind. There's no deadline on getting support.

Wherever you're coming from, this is a good time to take one step toward feeling better.

We're here. 💙

Today's the day. 🌅

I'm boarding a flight to Naples, Italy and I genuinely cannot believe I get to type that sentence.

But before I go, I want you to know — this practice doesn't pause while I'm away.

If you need support between now and June 15th, you are not without care. I am leaving you in the hands of some of the most wonderful humans I know:

🌿 Irma Escobedo, LPC — Irma is our most seasoned therapist and one of the warmest people in any room. She specializes in children & teens, relational trauma, and foster care and adoption challenges, and she's trained in both play therapy and EMDR. She also serves our Spanish-speaking clients and families. If you have children or teens who need support, Irma is exactly who I'd send my own family to.

🌿 Gates Lambeth, LMSW — Gates works with adults who have been running on fumes — whether that's showing up in your body, your job, or your closest relationships. She specializes in chronic stress, burnout, and marriage and couples work, and she has a way of creating space where hard conversations can actually go somewhere good.

🌿 Taryn Miller, Graduate Counseling Intern — Don't let the "intern" title fool you. Taryn brings real depth to this work — she's seasoned in crisis support and has spent years as a college ministry leader, which means she knows how to meet people in the middle of hard seasons with both clinical grounding and genuine faith. We're grateful she's part of this team.

If you're a current client, please reach out through your client portal and the team will make sure you're taken care of. New to LITD and wondering if we're a good fit?

I'll be back in office June 15th — full presence, full heart, and probably a lot of stories. 🙏🏽

Since I told you I'm heading to Italy, I've had several clients and people ask "what are you actually teaching over there?"

First, I love all the genuine excitement and encouragement about this opportunity! Thank you so much for your support, prayers, and cheers.

So, let me tell you what I'm up to... And then let me tell you why it matters here too.

Designed for Connection
What I'm known for... Integrating how God designed your mind, body, and spirit to respond to stress, to relationship, and to our experiences. You'll walk away with real insight into why you feel what you feel, respond the way you do — and how truth and love working together can create change that lasts.

Support for the Weary
This one is for anyone who has been carrying more than they were meant to hold alone. We talk about practical, gentle ways to regulate stress responses, receive real support, and move toward healing — not just survive the week. If you've been running on empty and wondering why rest doesn't actually feel restful, this class was built for you.

I'm bringing these to women in Naples. But these conversations don't belong only in Italy.

Both of these are available right here in Wichita Falls, too. I currently teach at local organizations weekly (it's a highlight of my week!), and I'd love to bring either of these to your church, workplace, nonprofit, or team.

If that's something you want to explore, reach out:

Y’all. I’m going to Italy. 🇮🇹

A few years ago, I may not have believed this was on my path — but I’ve been invited to join a team of women traveling to Naples to teach at the 2026 Sisterhood Women’s Conference hosted by Lighthouse Fellowship Napoli. I’ll be presenting two classes to women from across the region, and I am genuinely still pinching myself.

This is one of those career bucket-list moments that reminds you that the work you do in your corner of the world can ripple further than you imagine.

I’ll be out of the office June 3–12. If you’re a current client and need to reach me, please message me through your client portal — I’ll have limited availability, but I will be checking in.

Teaching is something I love and carry alongside my clinical work. Right now I teach regularly at three local organizations here in Wichita Falls. If you lead an organization, church, team, or event and you’re looking for someone to bring mental health education in a way that’s accessible, grounded, and real — I’d love to talk. Reach out at [email protected] or 940.239.9169.

I’ll be back and fully present on June 15th. Until then — pray for me, cheer me on, and know that this practice is still here for you. 🌅 -Lo**ta

Last Sunday of Mental Health Awareness Month.

And we want to close it the same way we try to do everything at LITD — with honesty and with hope.

This month may have been hard. For a lot of the people we serve, May has brought more fatigue, more tension, more of the quiet weight that doesn’t have an easy name.

That’s real. We’re not going to tie a bow on it.

And we also believe — theologically and clinically — that things can shift. Not because the circumstances always change, but because healing changes how we carry them.

His mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.

That’s not a platitude. That’s an anchor.

You made it through this month. That matters. And whatever the next season holds — you don’t have to hold it alone. We’re here.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and one of the most misunderstood experiences we want to talk about is depression.

Because it doesn’t always look like crying or staying in bed.

Sometimes it looks like:
— Showing up to everything but feeling nothing while you’re there
— Smiling in public, disappearing in private
— A flatness you can’t explain
— Losing your sense of future — not dramatically, just quietly
— Feeling disconnected from yourself and everyone around you

If that sounds familiar, you’re not broken. You’re not dramatic. You’re dealing with something real — and real things deserve real support.

You don’t have to keep going through the motions alone.
