In Loving Memory of Kenneth Franklin Coffman
July 15, 1935-August 16,2026
Kenneth Franklin Coffman passed away early Sunday morning, August 16, 2026, in his sleep after of enduring complications from heart failure. He was born July 15, 1935, in Antlers, OK to Onia Mae (Keathley) and Lester Franklin Coffman. His early years were spent in and around Glenwood, Arkansas and teenage years near Apache, OK. He grew up hunting, fishing and trapping with his Daddy and helping his Mama by assisting to provide game, milking neighbors cows for 2 jugs of milk a week, cooking, washing clothes in a boiling pot outside, riding an Indian pony to run his paper route in Apache and taking care of his younger brothers and sisters. Kenneth was very proud of his heritage and family.
When Kenneth was 17, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and began working in construction then married and worked as a butcher and at Hess Oil Refinery. From that marriage 3 children were born, Kenneth Franklin, Jr., Barry Craig and Lori Renee. Later he owned a construction company with his brother-in-law, Berry Day and his brother, Paul Coffman. On February 14, 1976, he married Jackie Calvert Traylor and lovingly welcomed another daughter into his heart, Kelly Dione Traylor. Kenneth continued as a General Contractor until he retired at 87 and moved back to Henrietta, Texas to be closer to family and friends.
Kenneth had so many good times and so many laughs in his lifetime. He had a great sense of humor and was always positive and telling his stories. Kenneth was a man who never met a stranger. He was a good man, a very hard worker, honest, a perfectionist and loved the outdoors. He had a great love and belief in God and always very grateful for the many blessings that God bestowed on him. Kenneth loved his family deeply and made every effort to provide and assist them.
Kenneth will be dearly missed by his large family and so many friends stretching from Corpus Christi through Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Faye Cain, Bernice Baggett, Shirley Coxsey, Norma Dean Day, his brothers Ernie, Billy, Paul, Glendell and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Jackie Calvert Coffman; children Kenny, Barry, Lori and Kelly; Grandchildren, (known to them as PaPa)Tasha, Tana, Trevor, Sarah, Rachel, Craig and Bryan; several Great Grandchildren;“Church” Grandchildren (known to them as Grandpa) Ireland Alexander, Jagger Sluder, Finn Sluder and Rosalie June Sluder; his sisters Linda Cross and Patsy Fox and many nieces and nephews; his Godchildren (known to them as “Big Boy”) Stacey Wright Lang, Katie Kovar Gambill and Charlie Kovar; his Church family and an abundance of friends, cousins and other family.
Pallbearers are Justin Schlager, , Brad Fox, Bradley Fox, Grant Wilkerson, Chase Coffman, Bryce Coffman, Rick Browning, Kinneth Sluder, Seth Slagle, Travis Neville.
Honorary Pallbearers are Berry Day, Bubba Day, Milton Jones, Mike Roberts, George Slagle, and all other surviving nieces and nephews.
Kenneth’s funeral will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, 10:00a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Bridge, Henrietta, Texas 76365, with the Rv. Valleri Sewell officiating and burial immediately following at Hope Cemetery, Henrietta, Texas.
