🩺 Schedule preventive care and address health concerns early

🧠 Manage stress and emotions to support both mental and physical health

Perfectionism isn't a badge of honor. It often stands in the way of your true potential.

During National Mental Health Awareness Month, let's talk about self-acceptance. Many of us battle the compulsive need to be liked, overcompensate to never be wrong, or shrink from opportunities for fear of failure.

To truly thrive, we must shift our mindset about how we feel when we think about ourselves.

Here are four actionable ways you can practice self-acceptance:

- Separate your identity: Your worth is not defined by your job title or daily performance. Find interests outside of work to help you learn and grow in different ways.

- Reframe your language: Swap "Sorry I'm late" for "Thank you for your patience." Instead of apologizing for taking up space, say "Thank you for listening."

- Pause before pleasing: Break the habit of an immediate "Yes." Try saying, "Thank you for thinking of me. I’ll get back to you."

- Manage rumination: You are not your thoughts. You have the power to step away from negative mental loops. Instead, focus on what is happening in the moment and deal with this reality, not "what might happen" or "the worst that could happen."

Want to build a healthier mindset? We are here for you. Find the resources you need to grow, thrive, and build your self-acceptance. Start now: https://empac-eap.com/request-a-quote/.

At empac, we believe strong leadership starts with a willingness to keep learning!

As an organization dedicated to supporting growth, communication, and professional development, we believe in practicing what we preach — and today was a great example of that in action! 💙

Our team had the opportunity to participate in a presentation on public speaking led by our very own Becca Hawthorne Barnhouse!

From building confidence and presence to improving communication and audience connection, the session provided valuable tools that strengthen both personal and professional leadership skills.

We are proud to offer specialized trainings like Public Speaking to organizations throughout our community because confident communication creates stronger leaders, healthier teams, and more connected workplaces.

Thank you, Becca, for sharing your knowledge and helping us continue to grow together! 🌟
