We are beyond excited to officially welcome Olivia (Liv) Swain, M.S., CCC-SLP, to Top Pediatric Therapy and Nutrition as our Speech-Language Pathologist! 💙

From the beginning, our vision has been to create a complete, wraparound village of care for children and families right here in Wichita, Kansas.

A place where families feel heard, supported, and hopeful. A place where we meet children exactly where they are, celebrate every inch of progress, and believe in the possibilities ahead.

We learned about reflexes, motor development, cranial nerves, and the anatomy of the brain during PT school…

But no one ever mentioned I’d spend my days chasing bubbles, wearing toy cones as a hat, inventing songs out of thin air, and discovering that the best treatment tool is often just being a little bit goofy 😂

Using slow repetition, responsive holds, and co-regulation, we give the nervous system time to feel safe. In this moment, she starts by tightly holding my hand. As her body relaxes and trusts the process, you can see the tension soften and her body settle.

As a dietitian, I often remind parents that they should aim to make every bite as nutrient dense as possible for their kids. Why can’t this apply to the pb&j? Choose things like:
- whole grain bread for added fiber & nutrients
- natural peanut butter with peanuts & salt as the only ingredients
- low added sugar jam
- add h**p hearts & flax seeds to boost omega 3s and fiber!

At first—searching for midline, working against her Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (ATNR)…
And then—through consistent, intentional practice… 💫

➡️ She FOUND midline
➡️ She brought her head to neutral
➡️ She ACTIVATED her body with purpose

Three reps turned into connection.
