Reflecting on my run about how stressed I was yesterday and that I reached out to a friend to walk with me and she needed the same thing. When the day is tough, reach out because the person you are reaching out to may also need help. We talked, problem solved, encouraged and laughed together while walking and as a result, today is much better. Contact me if you need or want someone to move with, talk with, problem solved with or just have witness your life.

Thoughts with a running therapist: defensive When others say something is your immediate reaction to be defensive? Pause and ask yourself why am I defensive about this? Is part of you hurt by what was said and what does that mean for you? Sometimes it is reframing what the other person is trying to say and ourselves taking it poorly. Other times it may be a genuine attack: which this reel is NOT addressing that situation. If you need help finding what helps you, how to respond without defensiveness in these misunderstanding situations: please contact me. My link is in my bio.

For those struggling with OCD- try this. See what happens when you try this- not just once, a few times. Notice what happens when you allow yourself to distract from the obsession and not try to cope with a compulsion but with something that engages other senses like taste or touch.
This is a new coping that I just learned about and know it could be helpful.

Thoughts with a running therapist: goals and failure Goals we set can be interrupted by life and that doesn’t mean you failed. If the goal keeps coming up, then when you can re-engage with that goal. Failure only happens when you stop trying. If you need help with re-engaging or want support, contact me and we can get started together.
