I'm completely okay with other people not liking me, so long as my client feels she had the support she needed 🤷‍♀️

One thing you learn very quickly as a newer doula is that sometimes your client needs someone willing to be the “bad guy.”

I’m okay with a provider thinking I’m annoying, difficult, bitchy, or asking too many questions if it means my client feels heard, represented, and supported.

Because 99% of the time, I’m not speaking for myself. I’m simply repeating and amplifying my client’s voice. That is literally my job.

None of it is personal. Birth is vulnerable, emotional, intense, and high stakes. My priority will always be making sure my client never feels alone in the room

Sometimes the ADHD gets me 🤣

Like okay Beth focus, she probably doesn't care about the history and statistics of continuous fetal monitoring as much as you do 😮‍💨

What is pregnancy glow?

This right here 🫶 Lindsi is my very first repeat doula client and I could NOT be more excited to be by her side as she welcomes her second baby!

Pro tip : stop listening to opinions from people you who haven't been where you want to go. ESPECIALLY if that person doesn't understand why you wouldn't want an episiotomy so things are "prettier" 🥴

Things I thank God for every single time as a doula. Hallelujah 🫶🏻

Sorry to activate your baby fever, but I couldn't keep this precious fresh 48 shot to myself 🥰

Common practice does NOT always equal evidence based. Asking questions should be encouraged, not responded to with immediate defensiveness 🤷‍♀️

Advocacy usually doesn't look like arguments and heated conversations.
Most of the time asking questions is all we need to promote a collaborative approach to your labor and making sure you've heard ALL your options ☺️

If I had to explain the difference between hypnobirthing and standard childbirth classes as simply as possible, it’s this:

Most birth classes teach you what to do once labor gets intense.
Hypnobirthing changes how you experience it before it even begins.

Think of it like this:
If you had a fear of elevators and knew you had to take one in 9 months… I could teach you how to cope with a panic attack once the doors close
or
I could use proven tools to reduce the fear so the panic never hits the same way.

That’s the difference.

GentleBirth doesn’t just focus on what to do once labor starts.
It uses CBT techniques, sports psychology, mindfulness, and hypnosis to create new neural pathways so you can approach birth feeling calm, grounded, and even excited.

So instead of your body going into panic mode when labor begins… your brain can say "yes! labor is finally here - I can't wait to meet my baby."

My next class on April 25th has 2 spots left! If you're interested in using hypnobirthing to prepare for your birth please leave me a comment or send a message and I'd love to share more!
