📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #2 📢

I need a clone of myself.

Unfortunately, the technology doesn't exist yet, so hiring my first employee will have to do. 😉

Blue Heron Bodywork is officially growing, and I am thrilled to announce that I am looking for a Licensed Massage Therapist to join the team!

This is a huge milestone for me. When I opened Blue Heron Bodywork, my dream was never just to create a job for myself—it was to create a space where clients feel cared for, supported, and safe, while also creating a workplace where therapists can thrive.

The timing couldn't be better. I am fully booked for June and only have a handful of appointments remaining in July. The demand is there, and I am ready to welcome another compassionate therapist into the Blue Heron family.

I'm looking for someone who:
🌿 Is passionate about perinatal care and women's health
🌿 Provides thoughtful, client-centered care
🌿 Wants the stability of a W-2 position while maintaining flexibility in their schedule
🌿 Values continuing education and professional growth

This position includes paid training and administrative time, retirement contributions, health insurance reimbursement, continuing education support, and more.

I have several important announcements that I'll be sharing over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on this page for updates.

Unfortunately, the first announcement comes on a sad note.

There has been a death in my family, and I will need to take some additional time away from the office in the coming days. We are still finalizing the date and details of the funeral, so I don't yet know exactly which appointments may be affected. As soon as I have more information, I will personally reach out to any clients who need to reschedule.

I know that massage appointments are often something you look forward to for weeks, and changing those plans can be disappointing. I am incredibly grateful for your understanding, patience, and flexibility as my family navigates this difficult time.

Thank you for allowing me the space to be present with my loved ones during this season. Your support, kindness, and understanding mean more than you know.

And while this first update is a difficult one to share, there are more announcements to come in the weeks ahead—and I promise they'll be less sad than this one. Keep an eye on this page for updates.

Today is a celebration.

A celebration of authenticity. Of self-expression. Of not having to hide who you are. Of living openly, boldly, and unapologetically as yourself.

As a reminder, Blue Heron Bodywork is proudly LGBTQ+ owned, and creating a welcoming, affirming space is at the heart of everything we do.

My goal has always been to make Blue Heron Bodywork a safe haven for weary souls—a place where you can exhale, let your guard down, and know that you are welcome exactly as you are.

Every body is welcome on my table. Every identity is worthy of care. Every person deserves a space where they feel seen, respected, and safe.

I figured with so many new faces around here, now feels like a good time to properly reintroduce myself.

I’m Chelsea — the human behind Blue Heron Bodywork. Former educator, recovering perfectionist, birdwatcher, romance book devourer, yoga lover, proud fur mom, and apparently someone who gets way too emotionally attached to book characters 😂

Most importantly, I’m a massage therapist who genuinely cares about creating a space where people can exhale a little easier.

My practice focuses heavily on prenatal and postpartum care, but I work with all kinds of bodies and all walks of life. I care deeply about making this space feel safe, inclusive, and welcoming — especially for people who may not always feel comfortable in traditional wellness spaces.

A couple things that matter a lot to me:
• community
• kindness over perfection
• supporting local whenever possible
• making healing accessible when I can
• reminding people they deserve care for themselves before they completely burn out

Which brings me to two things:

I’m honestly a little speechless.

I contacted the recipient of the last community-funded massage on April 30. Today is May 15, and there has already been enough contributed to fund another session.

I cannot adequately express how grateful I am for this community and the way you continue to show up for one another. Every extra dollar left behind has helped create access to care for someone who may not otherwise have received it, and that means more to me than I can put into words.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Since it has only been about two weeks, I’m going to choose a second recipient from the nominations shared on the last post. There were so many deserving stories and people submitted, and I’m incredibly honored to be able to say yes to another person so soon.
