tional & physical therapy clinicians create individualized therapy goals along with parent input. Depending on the disability or need, giving independence may be as simple as providing a piece of adaptive equipment or teaching a simple strategy to compensate and adapt to the environment. For example, an appropriate pencil grip may make the difference between finishing an assignment or having fingers get tired and cramped. We’ll help kids develop increased core strength to help improve balance and coordination. Sometimes we will teach a sensory strategy so that a child can learn to self-soothe instead of having a meltdown. The primary goal is to have the child, given any disability or additional need, be as functional and independent as possible.
