We are so happy to celebrate another successful discharge at Great Plains Post Acute! 💙

Our patient shared that she truly enjoyed her stay with us and called it “her pleasure” to be here. She especially wanted to recognize our wound nurse for the exceptional care she received while being treated for ulcers on her toes, saying, “I believe she saved my toes.”

✨PATIENT SUCCESS STORY✨

After a devastating motor accident, Troy came to Great Plains Post Acute facing an uphill battle. He suffered multiple fractures, a traumatic brain injury, and severe limitations that left him wheelchair-bound. In the beginning, even the smallest movements were difficult and required extensive assistance.

With the dedicated support of our nursing staff and therapy team, Troy received the intense rehab, skilled care, and proper guidance he needed. He pushed through setbacks, celebrated milestones, and continued making progress toward recovery. Step by step, Troy advanced from wheelchair to walker. After several months of rehab and recovery, he was able to leave the facility and return to living in the community.

Recently, Troy came back to visit, and the transformation was incredible. He was walking without any devices and had returned to what he loves most: fishing, riding his motorcycle, and preparing to return to work.

Troy’s journey is a great reminder that with perseverance, determination, and the right team behind you, full recovery is possible. At GPPA, we are proud to provide compassionate, skilled care that helps patients overcome life-changing challenges and achieve amazing outcomes. Our team is committed to helping every patient regain strength, independence, and confidence so they can get back to living the life they love! ❤️💪

It was definitely a Freaky Friday today! We had a lot of fun with role switches around the building — especially for our Maintenance Director, Tim, who will soon be transitioning to a new job opportunity. He will truly be missed by all of us! 🤍

To wrap up the week, we also enjoyed burgers and hot dogs for lunch, grilled by our very own admin. A great way to end a fun week together! 😋
