Most eyelid bumps are harmless. But here's what makes Dr. Burgoyne want to take a closer look.

Swipe for the red flags worth getting checked:

• A lesion that doesn't heal
• Changes or grows
• Repeatedly bleeds
• Causes lash loss

When in doubt, have it looked at. A quick exam gives you peace of mind either way.

Thinking about eyelid surgery but not sure where to start? Here's what to know, from what it treats to what recovery actually looks like.

Eyelid surgery isn't one-size-fits-all. Some patients come to us because drooping lids are affecting their vision (functional), others because they want a refreshed, more rested look (cosmetic). Dr. Burgoyne evaluates each case individually to figure out what's really going on and what approach makes sense for you.

Have questions about your own eyes? Send us a message or ask your provider for a referral. We're happy to walk you through it.

I'm an eye surgeon, of course I have an eye for detail 👁️

Precision isn't just a buzzword around here, it's the standard. Every procedure, every patient plan, every follow-up is built with the same level of care we'd want for our own family.

Dr. Burgoyne has been perfecting that eye for detail since 2001. Curious what that looks like for your eyes? Let's talk.

25+ years of experience taught Dr. Burgoyne which symptoms patients tend to brush off, until they can't anymore.

A sudden wave of floaters or flashes of light. A drooping eyelid that's slowly crept into your peripheral vision. Watery eyes you've chalked up to allergies for years. A small bump near your eyelid that just won't clear up.

None of these mean you should panic. But they are your sign to stop guessing and get it checked by someone who knows exactly what to look for.

Swipe through to see what each one could really mean, and reach out if any of these sound familiar.

Your eyes deal with a lot every day, most of it without you noticing.

Some of the most common habits behind dry, irritated, or strained eyes are ones we don't think twice about: not drinking enough water, sleeping in makeup, skipping sleep, or using redness drops a little too often.

The good news? Most of these are easy to adjust once you know what to look for. And if something feels off even after making changes, that's exactly what we're here for.

When did you last have an eye exam? If it's been a while, let's get you on the schedule.

Notice a new bump or growth near your eye? It’s one of the most common reasons patients walk through our doors.

The skin around your eyelids is the thinnest on your body, making it uniquely sensitive to clogged oil glands, sun exposure, and friction.

While most growths, like chalazia, skin tags, or surface pingueculae are completely harmless, guessing what’s on your eyelid is never worth the risk.

Your eyelids serve a critical job: protecting your eye surface and keeping your vision clear. Trying home remedies or squeezing eyelid bumps can easily lead to infection or scarring on delicate tissue.

After 25+ years in eye care, our rule of thumb is simple. If a bump doesn't clear up on its own, bleeds, changes shape, or starts interfering with your vision, get it checked by an eye specialist. Modern care makes diagnostic checks and minor removals quick, safe, and comfortable 👁️
