Maybe similar to some of us, my dog is super independent. She's almost like a cat!

She has a few needs and the rest of the time good to go. Expect....

Expect when there is thunder in the sky. This is literally happening right now.

She can't figure out what to do with herself.

She follows me around.

She seeks guidance and some comfort.

When we are looking to shift a pattern

simply not sure what to do to connect with our body to find safety

Time for a reset.

Time to tune into sensation.

In this myofascial self-care class we will work on gently opening spaces in your body using a foam roller or a small ball while focusing on your body's sensations. Class will allow you to connect with your body in a way that feels necessary and therapeutic.

Consistency.

Dedication.

So much in life asks us to be show up with consistency and be dedicated to ourselves.

This was my first time paddle boarding.

Honestly I thought I was going to fall in. I really didn't want to but was okay if I did!

I started off seated and moved slow. I couldn't believe I actually stood up without a wobble.

I've been showing up for myself through taking care of my fascia along with gaining balance and strength.

These are all interconnected and as I continue on my journey I smile when I think about what I can do because I show up and have consistency and dedication.

Keep your hand soft. To create a myofascial release hold for at least 3 minutes.

Only if a magic wand really existed!

We don't build muscles by going to the gym just once.

We don't become nearly perfect at something by attempting just once.

Just like the above having one myofascial session probably won't offer you a great change. If you stay aware it will offer you awareness of what you are sensing.

And over time with consistency and dedication, just like it takes to build muscle and like it takes to become better at something, you will gain more awareness in your body.

You will deepen your connection to what you are sensing.

You will feel shifts and changes in your body allowing your day to day life to be more easeful.

It does take consistency and dedication not just a one off attempt!

Unless I have a strict schedule life is always pulling me out of the lines!

To be honest I love coloring out of the lines and seeing where things end up.

I also do enjoy taking a real solid intentional moment to stay inside the lines and know exactly what I am doing.

This helps everything for my reset. I know exactly what I'm doing and the only thing I'm considering is color choice.

There are many ways to reset our nervous system and directly linked into this is our fascial system.

Allowing your fascia to release will create a true opening for your nervous system to calm down and come to a reset as well.

Reset.

Release your fascia, allow your body to reorganize and experience a true nervous system reset!

TMJ Self-Care Tip!

Remember to get a release you must wait with soft fingers, hands and whole body.

As you feel your jaw soften some add a little more pressure without forcing.

You must wait 3-5 minutes to create a fascial release. If this sounds long start with a minute and increase your time each time you do it.

Sometimes we just feel like concrete and we want our body to move better.

Directly working with your fascia can allow for your body to melt and release these restrictions.

I encourage everyone I work with to do their best to connect into their body. Check in with and tap into their awareness and notice what they are sensing.

Notice if tension is present. If so, is there a possibility to some soften of it?

Notice if tension is present and the awareness is that it wants to stay longer. Then reassuring the body this is okay. Allow it to stay and acknowledge it's presence. Then notice if it shifts or changes with your acknowledgement.

If you feel like concrete know that it is possible to allow some if not all of it to shift and change. See the last slide with what happened last week!

When I first heard this I thought...

"Okay, this definitely holds truth."

When I thought about the tension in my body and water trying to get into those tight restricted areas, like a river that's been damned up with logs, how is it really getting to where it needs to be?

Well, it's not!!!

This is just one reason why I find fascial release incredibly important for not only my body but every body that is out there.
