Today is National Nonprofit Day, and around here, our “why” is pretty simple:

We want people with diabetes, and the people who love them, to live well! 💙

Not just manage numbers. Not just make it through the next appointment. Not just learn how to count carbs, take medication, use technology or understand an A1C.

We want people to live full, joyful, healthy lives with diabetes.

That means education when everything feels overwhelming. Support when someone needs to know they aren’t doing this alone. Camp experiences where kids get to simply be kids surrounded by people who understand. Resources for families. Advocacy. Community. Connection. And a team of people who genuinely, deeply care about the humans behind every number.

That is what nonprofit work can do.

At Great Plains Diabetes, we’re incredibly proud to serve people and families throughout our community, but we can’t do this work alone. Every donation, partnership, volunteer, advocate and person who shares our mission helps us reach another person who needs us.

So on National Nonprofit Day, if you believe people living with diabetes deserve more than simply getting by... if you believe they deserve the tools, support and community to truly LIVE WELL, we’d be honored to have you alongside us.

Because diabetes may be part of someone’s life.

But we believe, with everything we’ve got, that it should never keep them from living it. 💙
