The reported compensation of $12,281,151 for previous Ascension Health President and CEO Joseph Impicciche in 2024 is deeply troubling, especially given that Ascension is a not-for-profit Catholic organization.

The total compensation of HCA CEO, Sam Hazen is just as troubling, as his total was
$26,456, 606.

It is unacceptable that while leadership receives such exorbitant pay, patients are suffering due to chronic short staffing and unsafe working conditions. This disparity highlights a profound misalignment of priorities, where financial gain is placed above the fundamental mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care. Patients deserve access to safe, timely, and dignified treatment, but this cannot be achieved without investing adequately in frontline staff and creating a supportive work environment. True stewardship in healthcare means putting people not profits first!

The hardest parts of changing how you parent happen when absolutely no one is watching.

There are no awards or public celebrations for the moments you catch a sharp comment before it leaves your mouth, or when you choose to take a slow breath instead of matching the panic in the room. It is invisible, heavy work that usually happens behind closed doors, completely isolated in your own skin.

When you choose to lead with maturity and real integrity, you are frequently fighting old, unhealed chapters entirely on your own. But this work was never meant to draw a crowd.

The shift happens in the quiet spaces of your home, where you are slowly rewriting the baseline for the people coming after you. Every single time you choose internal stillness over a raw reaction, you change the entire atmosphere of your house. You hand your children a predictable, secure environment that you might never have experienced yourself.

The true weight of that effort doesn't show up on a timeline you can measure tomorrow. It shows up decades from now, in the quiet certainty of grandchildren who move through the world entirely free from the old family panic.

They will inherit an unwavering sense of security simply because you had the backbone to stand in the room and fix the environment before it reached them. ❤️
