We had a great time training this group at Andover Family Counseling Purple Line Training today! We appreciate their inquisitiveness and care for their community and how they can keep learning and growing to be better advocates for caregivers and those living with Dementia! Also a first time Purple Line training included twins and a therpay dog♥️

September 21st is , and this year we’ve been busy in our little corner of the world working on something we care deeply about: making life more accessible, welcoming, and full of JOY for people living with dementia and the people who care for them. Check out the Purple Line Project!
Since we started, 37 locations have joined us in becoming more dementia-friendly—and there are many more to come!
Alzheimer’s and dementia are not issues for one city, one state, or one country. They touch families and communities everywhere. And every one of us can make moves toward change.
We can change perceptions.
We can improve access.
We can support research.
We can build understanding.
And most importantly, we can choose to include people living with dementia in the life of our communities.
Because when we make our communities more accessible, compassionate, and joyful for people living with dementia and their caregivers, we make them better for everyone.

Regular volunteering and social engagement may be good for the brain. Research has associated sustained volunteering in later life with about a 20–25% lower risk of cognitive impairment, while broader social participation has been associated with a 30–50% lower risk of dementia. Thankful for trainings for those very volunteers that make organizations flourish! Thank you Old Cowtown Museum for inviting Purple Line back to help train uour volunteers!
