Kaiser Canyon Fire 2026
Evening Update / Quick Facts / Last NE WA IMT Post
8:00pm for 7.19.26

The Northeast WA Interagency Incident Management Team 3 would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Mt. Tolman Fire Center, Colville Agency, and the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation for the professional partnership and collaboration while our team managed the Kaiser Canyon Fire. We are honored to work with all of you and this amazing community and are grateful for the generous hospitality.

Tomorrow at 0700 the NE WA IMT #3 team will turn over command of the fire to Northern Rockies National CIMT #2. The transition and shadow day went very well, and we have developed a great partnership with their team. The community is in good hands.

Acres: 60,226
Personnel: 500
Containment: 0%

Today, firefighters worked diligently to build strong containment lines. Hot, dry, and windy conditions pushed the fire east toward Owhi Flats and into Ferry County. Along with air support and additional resources that arrived earlier this morning, fire crews focused on protecting structures and stopping forward progression. The steep terrain, shifting winds, and low humidity have increased active fire spread late this afternoon. Firefighters will continue working through the night on fire suppression activities, focusing on fireline patrol for hotspots and structure protection at the head (front) of the fire.

As the new team assumes command, they will work diligently to continue to provide the most up-to-date information and fire maps as the information (which can rapidly change due to unpredictable fire behavior) as it becomes available.

Please continue to monitor evacuation announcements and road closure updates. Community, property, and firefighter safety are our priorities. Be safe out there.

Thank you - NE WA IMT #3
