This Labor Day, we're taking a moment to say thank you. 🇺🇸

To the hands that built, the people who showed up early and stayed late, and the quiet work that shaped the communities we call home. We're grateful for the generations who worked hard so the rest of us could rest easy.

Wishing you and your family a peaceful holiday. 💙

As the seasons change, grief can feel different too.

Fall has a way of stirring things up gently. A cooler morning that catches you off guard. A familiar smell drifting by. A song on the radio you haven't heard in a while. If one of these moments brings a wave of missing someone back to the surface, that's not a setback. It's just how grief moves through the year alongside us.

Some people notice it more as summer fades. The light changes, the routines shift, and suddenly there's a little more quiet space for memories to surface. That's completely normal, even if it catches you by surprise.

There's no need to push those feelings away or explain them to anyone. Let the season bring what it brings, and be gentle with yourself as it does.

If you're moving through a harder stretch right now, visit us online to learn more, or give us a call. We're here for every season, not just the hard weeks right after a loss.

Here's a gentle reminder for anyone who needs it today: a good day is not a betrayal.

When you're grieving, joy can feel complicated. You laugh at something, catch yourself, and suddenly feel guilty, as if being happy somehow means you've forgotten the person you lost, or that you're not missing them enough. So many people carry that quiet guilt, and we want you to set it down.

The truth is that joy and grief can live side by side. Feeling a moment of lightness doesn't erase your love or your loss. It doesn't mean you've moved on or left anyone behind. It simply means you're human, and that you're healing, in the slow and uneven way that healing actually happens.

Your loved one would not want your grief to close the door on every good day for the rest of your life. Laughter, sunshine, small joys, these can coexist with missing someone deeply. Both feelings are allowed to be true at once.

So be kind to yourself today. Let the good moments in when they come. And if you're carrying a heavy load right now, visit us online to learn more about grief support, or give us a call anytime. 💛

Sometimes the most meaningful way to honor someone is also the simplest. 🕯️

Tonight, try this: light a candle and share a favorite memory of someone you're missing. Say their name out loud. Tell the funny story again, the one everyone knows by heart. Play their favorite song. Cook the meal they always asked for.

There's a quiet kind of comfort in remembering out loud. Grief can make us feel like we have to tuck our memories away, but saying a loved one's name and speaking about them keeps them close. It's a small ritual, but small rituals often carry us through the hardest evenings.

You don't need a special occasion or the "right" words. You just need a moment and a willingness to remember. Invite the family in, or keep it to yourself. Either way, the love is what matters.

Who are you remembering tonight? If you'd like, share their name below so we can hold them in our thoughts too. And if you need support along the way, we're always here. Just give us a call or visit us online.
