Aug. 15 | Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
O Blessed Virgin Mary, assumed into heaven, we honor you as Mother and Queen, asking for the grace to live in faith, hope, and charity, and to be strengthened in trial as we draw closer to Jesus.

August 14 — A Beautiful Day in the Life of Padre Pio

114 years ago today, a young Padre Pio returned to his hometown of Pietrelcina to celebrate his first solemn Mass—just four days after being ordained a priest.

He was only 23.

No one could yet see all that God would ask of this humble Capuchin friar: the suffering, the stigmata, the countless hours in the confessional, the thousands who would come seeking his prayers, and ultimately the great work of mercy he would build for the sick and suffering.

But Padre Pio already understood the heart of his vocation:

To love God.
To suffer with Christ.
To bring souls to Jesus.
To offer everything.

His life reminds us that God can take one simple, faithful “yes” and make it the beginning of something far greater than we can imagine.

Today, we ask Saint Padre Pio, pray for us.

🙏🏻 “Pray, hope, and don't worry.”
