The best part of The Arc Aktion Club’s Cereal Box Challenge? Watching the 440 boxes collected fall like dominos to celebrate! Assembling this line of dominos was no small feat, and we’re so grateful for the help of William & Mary students to make our vision a reality!

Members of William & Mary Tribe Lacrosse and other William & Mary students, including our phenomenal summer intern, volunteered their time setting up for this one of a kind celebration. We’re so grateful for their patience and hard work - it truly paid off hearing the cheers heard around the room at the event. We’re extra grateful today to have the Tribe’s support!

The Arc shines the spotlight on a NEW event sponsor this year, Ferguson! On top of graciously donating appliances for The Arc's new building's state of the art kitchen and joining us as a sponsor for this year's The 17th Annual Williamsburg Landing 5k for The Arc, members of the Ferguson team have also joined us as volunteers for The Arc's Summer bowling events.

THREE WEEKS AWAY! Mark your calendars! In honor of The Arc’s 50th anniversary this year, Frothy Moon Brewhouse-Williamsburg,VA is crafting an honorary Blonde ale, titled "The Arc Anniversary Ale," and we're having a celebration.

The event will feature musical performances by Shanty Grass, Winsome, and Clan MacCool, Get Cheesy food truck, and a variety of drink options from Frothy Moon, including The Arc Anniversary Ale, coffee, sodas, and more.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of each beer will go towards The Arc of Greater Williamsburg to support our mission of serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The beer will be available in cans or on tap at the brewhouse both during and after the event.

We hope you'll join us anytime between 4-9pm on Friday, September 18th to celebrate this exciting anniversary.

Our Aktion Club’s Cereal Box Challenge supporting the culminated with a spectacular grand finale on Tuesday, August 25!

Aktion Club, a service club partnership between the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg and The Arc, set an ambitious goal of collecting 250 boxes of cereal to support the Williamsburg House of Mercy. The challenge was part of the ’s goal of collecting 250,000 pounds of food to support area food pantries during our country’s 250th year.

Well… we didn’t just meet our goal, we blew it out of the park! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Williamsburg community, Kiwanis and Arc families, 440 boxes of cereal were collected!

Earlier this week, with the help of William & Mary students and members of the William & Mary Women’s Lacrosse Team, all 440 boxes were carefully arranged into a winding cereal-box domino display. And then came the moment we had all been waiting for!

Arc members were joined by Kiwanis Club members and local community food bank leaders, including House of Mercy Executive Director Liz Buckley, who had the honor of starting the dominoes!

After the grand finale, Arc of Abilities members packaged up all 440 boxes to be delivered and help feed our neighbors.

We are so incredibly grateful to every single person who donated, helped collect, carried, stacked, cheered, and celebrated with us.

We were absolutely blown away by the kindness and generosity of our community, and so proud that our Aktion Club members exceeded their goal by a landslide!

250 boxes was the goal. 440 boxes was the reality. What an amazing community!

The Arc’s Annual Summer Luau took place last week! We had such a fun night dancing, doing the limbo, and partaking in a “get ready for the beach” relay race! Thanks to Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, we all got to enjoy a true taste of the island with Mango Ice! It was the sweetest way to enjoy time together and we thank Rita’s for their generosity in donating this delicious treat. Until next Summer!
