Grief after the loss of a loved one doesn't always have a place to go.

For families who have lost someone to substance use, that grief can feel especially isolating.

GRASP (Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing), in affiliation with West Branch Drug & Alcohol, offers peer support, comfort, and connection to those grieving the loss of a loved one to substance use.

Through GRASP, people find:
โ€ข Conversations with others who have experienced a similar loss.
โ€ข A compassionate, understanding environment.
โ€ข The reminder that you don't have to carry your grief alone.

In this video, West Branch Drug & Alcohol Program Coordinator Dr. Dave Bower and Carolyn A Miele of Saving Lives For Zachary share how GRASP supports individuals and families as they navigate the difficult journey of grief and healing.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this support, or would like to learn more about upcoming GRASP meetings, please contact Dr. Dave Bower at [email protected].

Prevention is about more than saying, "Don't do it."

At West Branch Drug & Alcohol, prevention means providing education, strengthening communication, building connections, and supporting individuals, families, schools, and communities with the tools they need to make informed, healthy choices.

Prevention works best when we work together. Every conversation, every partnership, and every effort to educate and support our community can make a difference.

Everyone has a role to play.

Prevention is one of the most effective tools we have.

Education helps people make informed decisions. Early intervention can change outcomes. Strong families, schools, and communities all play an important role in preventing substance misuse before it starts.

At West Branch Drug & Alcohol, prevention is at the heart of what we do. Through education, outreach, and community partnerships, we're committed to helping individuals and families build healthier, stronger futures.

Small actions today can make a lasting difference tomorrow.
